Every exercise program or physical activities we decide to start or become a part of is usually categorized under four basic headings, endurance, strength, balance and flexibility. Yoga has all these categories imbedded in the poses that are practiced. Yoga is also a very comprehensive exercise program, because it does not focus on one activity alone or one particular pose. Every pose comes with a difference aim which falls under the four categories. Though certain poses are meant to either build any of the four main areas, some poses fit into more than one of the categories.
The endurance is a form of activity that increases your breathing and heart rate., which keeps your lungs healthy and also helps your blood flow circulation. When you have a healthy breathing system, you are sure to be fit. The yoga breathing exercise, is done when seating on a yoga mat, which people often carry in a
yoga mat bag. The breathing exercises your lungs and ensures that you are inhaling and exhaling air to expand your lungs.. The breathing is a major part of the yoga program that focuses on improving your overall health. The impact is seen in how you are able to carry out your daily activity without experiencing any discomfort. You can examine how you perform , when you walk , or brisk walk, do your daily clean up like mowing your lawn, raking , digging. All these can determine how healthy your lungs are.
Strength: The strength exercise is made to build strong muscles. When building muscles, it is good to exercise every muscles, because some exercise program may focus on building some certain muscles, without paying close attention to other sets of muscles. As you exercise, your muscles, your strength increases, which eventually increases your ability to do more rigorous workout. You are able to carry out daily activities, like climbing the stairs, doing your groceries’ etc. The yoga poses, ensures this is achieved, because of the long poses you do. Yoga is mostly dependent on using your own weight , so you build muscles carrying your own weigh. Some people go the extra mile to take along don bells to the yoga studio, but this might cause inconvenience when carry them in their
yoga bag or yoga backpack.
Balance: From the word it already tells you what to expect. Balance exercise is expected to help you become stable, when performing some exercise. You are supposed to prevent yourself from falling .The yoga exercise program has exercise poses where you stand on your foot and toes to build balance , sometimes on your heels, on one foot, on two hands. All with the intension to help you build balance.
Flexibility: To relax your muscles, you need to be flexible. This is an important part of the yoga program because when you breathe, you allow air into your entire body that releases the friction between the joint. Also flexing your muscles often, helps build flexibility. As opposed to some other exercise program that is just focused on muscles strengthening by lifting heavy weigh t. This has to be interchanged with other exercise to relax your muscle, so they don’t become bulky, giving no room for flexibility
