If your password is "password," you're far from alone -- which is so, so sad.

SplashData, a password management service, has revealed the most popular passwords from 2014. "123456" remained the most popular, with "password" coming in second. (Scroll down for the full list.)

SplashData dubbed the list the "Worst Passwords," and we agree -- because they're so common, it's a terrible idea to ever use one of these super easy, obvious phrases.

The report looked at over 3.3 million passwords that were leaked online throughout 2014, according to a press release. Most of the data came from North America and Western Europe, the release notes.

The list of weak passwords isn't so different from last year's data, which would seem to suggest that many folks aren't paying attention to online security despite recent high-profile hacks. But Mark Burnett, an online security expert quoted in SplashData's release, says things might actually be moving in the right direction.

“The good news is that it appears that more people are moving away from using these passwords. In 2014, the top 25 passwords represented about 2.2 percent of passwords exposed. While still frightening, that's the lowest percentage of people using the most common passwords I have seen in recent studies," Burnett said.

It's not that hard to create a strong password. Microsoft has some tips, and you can check your password's strength at The Password Meter. So please, stop making it easy for hackers with passwords like "1234" and "monkey."

The full list of passwords you should never, ever use:

1. 123456
2. password
3. 12345
4. 12345678
5. qwerty
6. 1234567890
7. 1234
8. baseball
9. dragon
10. football

That is a good advice, sadly people are custom to create password they can remember such as using their real name.
That is why many hosting companies such as www.perfectvisualhost.com does force customers to have at least 50% password straight. This way it isn't an option to choose weak password.
