Affiliate marketing is probably the simplest business model you can choose to build a business. Of course, the devil is in the details, as they say, but the general model can actually be divided into six stages.

Before reaching the steps, I want to ask you a question. What do you expect with affiliate marketing? This is an easy question to answer than it seems. There is really only two basic options here.

The first is what I call "easy money" choice. In other words, you want to make a few dollars quickly, and you are not interested in building a business. If this is your case, all you need do is learn how to write ads exceptionally good, and then use them to promote your affiliate product. Many people say I'm wrong, but there is nothing wrong with doing this, provided it is honestly not trying to build a long term business in this way.

On the other hand, if you are looking to build a business with potential long-term income, then you will have a long way ahead. It will take more time before we see any benefit from their efforts, but will be worth when you are able to take a day off, or even a week off, and still have sales in its absence.

These steps must be followed in order. If you try to exit the sequence, do not get the results you are after.

1. Choose a market

Why choose a market and product selection? Because it is very likely to add additional products in its portfolio. You must choose a market that interests you, and maybe something you already know something about it. Do not forget that you are building in the long term.


2. Choose a product

Once you have your chosen market, you must choose one product to begin with. It will be very tempting to add all kinds of products at first, but no. Having a single product will help you focus on important tasks. You want to choose a product that converts well. What this means is that the product is sold at a high percentage of visitors. This will help keep the cost per visitor down and increase profits.


3. Build up a series of

Also called an autoresponder series, you must build a base on the subject and content of the product they are promoting. If it is a physical product they are promoting, you will need to create or find content that relates directly to the product. For example, if you are selling golf clubs, you could create a series about how to buy golf clubs that fit, or the benefits of custom clubs, or even something about the preferences of the club's famous professional golfers . Be as creative as you can, and does not deviate from topic. It is said that most sales are not made at initial contact was made in the seventh. Once your business is making money, it's time to start adding to your list of products. It does not mean you should go out and sign up for every affiliate program that is even remotely related. What I mean is that you must carefully choose an additional product or two, and add to their line. Because it has been building a list of qualified prospects, you will be able to market these new products for them. This is the manufacturer of long-term money for your business. While still recommend good products to its list of clients, you can follow to make money out of them, even those who have already bought her final product recommendation.


So these six steps are all you need to go from nothing to have a profitable business selling other peoples products. It can be easy to lose focus if you are not seeing immediate results, so keep your eyes on the ultimate goal of having a profitable business. It can also be difficult to find its initial market and product. Take your time and choose the best product possible. If the product you choose to promote is not good, your prospects will not continue to listen to their recommendations.
