Search engine optimization also known as SEO is a popular form of search engine marketing. The main objective of which (as its name suggests) is to improve site ranking in various search engines. An entire industry of consultants has sprung up around the idea of ??search engine optimization. However, it is important to note that there are two distinct and disparate methodologies at work when it comes to optimization. In fact, the same SEO consultants and their methods can be divided into two different groups. The categories are best known as "white hat SEO" (which aims to improve the overall quality of the land, and increase the ranking of the site by approved methods), or "black hat SEO" (often used methods such as cloaking and spamdexing to increase the classification. However, using these methods can lead to your site from being removed from search engine listings.) Those in the white hat by the field that black hat methods not only gives SEO a bad name, but they are also trying to manipulate and undermine the search rankings. Black hatters against the argument by saying that in fact all SEO is an attempt to manipulate rankings, and therefore the particular methods used to increase the classification is irrelevant. Stated otherwise adopt the Machiavellian approach of using the final results justify the means they use.

So what more specifically are the methods used by both sides?

White hat methods:

These methods typically involve following the guidelines of search engines ", published as to what is and what is not acceptable. The general advice given by experts in white hat SEO is to make content easier to use, and not focus so much on search engines. That is, if your site is well prepared and presented to users need something that naturally rise in the ranking. Also as the content easily accessible to search engines spiders will read correctly, so properly indexed by search engines. White hatters need most often due to a webmaster has made critical errors in either the design or layout of their websites, inadvertently "poisoning" so they will not rank well. The SEO then try to discover and correct these errors, which may include unreadable menus, broken links, temporary redirects, or simply a poor navigational structure.

Here are some examples of the activities of SEO that search engines are acceptable:

• The use of a reasonable size, the accurate description meta tag without excessive use of words, exclamation marks or off topic terms.

• Optimization of the labels, titles and other parts of the code as necessary

• Use WordTracker or a similar database to find relevant and popular keywords and phrases to use for your site.

• Monitoring of different search engines to ensure that your address is indexed

• Increase the amount of exclusive content on the site.

• Writing quality content for website visitors instead of search engines.

Black hat methods:

Whereas white hat methods follow search patterns "Black hat" SEO methods to try to improve the ranking by any means necessary. Most of these methods are frowned upon by search engines, usually because of its deceptive nature, but also hinder the ability of search engines to provide quality content to site visitors. Search engines often penalize sites they discover using black hat methods, by reducing their rankings or eliminating their listings from search results altogether. These sanctions are usually applied automatically by the algorithms of search engines ", because the Internet is too large for manual monitoring of possible sites. However, once they are discovered, the search engines may take action against those found to use unethical SEO methods. Take for example the Google removal of both BMW Germany and Ricoh Germany in February 2006 for use of these practices.
A common method is known as black hat spamdexing. Spamdexing is the promotion of irrelevant, chiefly commercial, pages through various techniques of deception and abuse of search algorithms. Unfortunately, often confused with white optimization techniques search engine hat, not involving deception. Spamming involves getting websites more exposure than they deserve for their words, leading to unsatisfactory search results. Optimization involves getting websites the rank they deserve on specific keywords, leading to satisfactory search experiences.

An example is the link spamdexing agriculture. Link agriculture can be basically defined as any group of web pages that all link to each page in the other group. Another common practice is the list of popular keywords in small print or in the same color as the background so they can not be seen by users.

So how can you tell the difference between the Black and White SEO practices?

An easy way to distinguish between the two is, however, the amount of time required to achieve the desired results. Use white hat SEO methods that produce results slowly over time and only after a great deal of effort has been put on the site. Black hat SEO offer quick and easy results, most if not all of which are obtained through deceptive practices.
