Visual effects verses quality websites

I want to know the important of visual effects I mean people say good web design. I see lots of blog templates that are great design, but people say they are not what they want.
When I see their website when completed, pathetic page speed below 50 on a page speed test by Google. When I say what is this they say they didn’t knew.
Quality of a website purely depends on content and blog
And not on looks of the website. One should follow Google’s webmaster guidelines

Visual effect helps for website good look and attractiveness.
People say that those blog designs are not what they want simply because those designs are not unique as other websites are using them.
I agreee with you about quality of website depends on content, but disagree in area of blog as web presence goes beyond blog.

I don't know when google became internet police?  please educate us.

i agree with the fact that value of a website depends on the content that benefits the user. so make content for users and enjoy it

User experience in their own view for their advantage or general standard, are there internet standard organization or what? google has succeeded in rewiring so many webmasters brains that they view internet in google point of view. That is nonsense.
