Judging by this I understand that you fight ahead of time, how about if your fear doesn't materialize (as research has shown that most of the things we fear don't materialize) rather you head to problem.

In my understanding, an educated, intelligent, self-assured, resourceful and self-respecting man does not raise a hand to a woman. such man does not even allow a situation to get any close to physical abuse. only a man who can't achieve outcomes with words uses physical power. to me, if your words can't move mountains, then you are not man enough. this is my humble opinion based on the values I hold as an African.
