Upon all the resources found in the continent both natural and human, yet Africa is still regarded as developing  continent (in most cases as third world continent) is this spiritual or intellectual challenge?

Well, when we succeed, stagnant or fail in business, life, state, country or continent is as a result of many factors. It couldn't be attributed to one factor as that would be a limitation.

In my view, in no way is this either of the two. Come to think of Africans, how spiritual and intellectual they are. Think about their joy and the mental strengths, even when they are starving. I think we are a strong and intelligent enough people.

The question of development is rather diffcult to answer, because it takes you back to another question namely what is development and who sets the standards of development. Is development building skyscrappers in the 'sacred/holy' African forests so that the continent can look like Hong Kong or Manhattan, or is development sitting back watching the untouched sacred forests from a distance and feeling content and protected by them?

What is development from an African perspective? To me it's not another reproduction of London or New York or Abu Dhabi.

Problem? There is no life, country or continent without challenge, any one who denies this is running a fake front.
I don't think is a matter of any problem or challenge they all bothers on one's mind set and perception as Dqueen indicated. As what you call development might be meaningless to others.

In my opinion, spiritual; the spiritual controls the physical, what is happening in Africa is as a result of curses whether we like it or not. Ask your self why Americans love their country so much and say God bless America??? Words are powerful, come to think of it how many Africans truely love their father land and bless it daily? very few who are out weighted by those cursing!!!

I would disagree with you on that abitex. Africa is cursed by who? and who are the Africans singing 'God bless America'? I know we love some of the American lifestyle but not to the extent of asking 'God' to bless it.... Believing in curse, thus the supernatural only distracts us from the real problems that we should be solving.

All the countries listed are under great demonic siege, you'll agree with me that the Jezeebel spirit has taken all these nations to gross immorality, the demonic influences can be seen in Zimbabwe to impoverish the masses through bad leadership as also seen in Nigeria. 1 John 3:8, shows that all of these are from the devil. People syphonying all Nigerian oil. Poverty is not of God. You can see gross poverty in all the countries???

It's not a matter of better sense but reality! Many Africans are in pains and any African who truely have a conscience will weep for Africa!!!

That is why it is a spiritual problem and ought to be addressed in that manner.

abitex577, seems to be a religious type and always of opinion that some invisible forces are in control. There is challenge with this thinking as it tends to encourage laziness, instead of working towards realities.

Africa's greatest problem has to do with the mindset. A lot of Africans don't have positive mindset, they don't believe they can achieve the extraordinary. And with this mindset, we cannot move forward. Little wonder African continent is the poorest and least developed in the universe!

Theswaggerman, I agree with you in terms mind-set (as I have mentioned in the forum manytimes) but don't agree with you in area of Africa being the poorest, please explain in what standard you measure this?

Iam talking in terms of living standard. So many africans are living on less than 1dollar daily. Is this happening in other parts of the globe?

The so called advanced/developed nations has inductrinated religious believes into their families, that is why in such places if a brother breaks the rule, members of the family will bring him out to face the music, they also know and teach their wards that to excel, one has to put in hard work (which is one of the tenets of the christian faith ie anyone who cannot provide for his family is worst than an infidel). This is a direct opposite to what we see in Africa, greed and looting of public funds which are meant to build a better society are just squandered. Every virtue you see in life is adopted from the Holy book, until Africans embrace it as a way of life and not just lip service nothing will change. The bottom line it's a spiritual problem and needs spiritual solution.

Honestly I don't dispute being Christian or Islam(that isn't the point I'm making), I'm devoted Christian, what I mean here that all the whole issues have been over used that some people do sit down waiting for things to just change on themselves or failing to address critical issue facing them on the pretext or view that certain force will take care of that.
If a certain group or Government doesn't do well is people obligation to do something about that, either remove them or impeach  the government or even sue for damage, not setting down on one's home thinking is as a result of certain sins that forefathers committed.

These are two different animals, Spiritual problems be solved spiritually, physical problems be solved physically. The house of assembly does not need a priest or Imam to pray before they impeach a sitting president if he has committed an impeachable offence, but it must be a source of concern to everyone that every system, structure, in a state like Nigeria has failed, so who do u impeach, the people???

Being a realist doesn't make one inert, rather it offers one the opportunities to consider quick fix or long term opportunities.

Quick fix is for African leaders to turn from from their evil rulership, pray to God to give them direction on what to do.

Primary point is spiritual, whatever that plays out in the physical, first is played out in the spiritual before its manifestation. Many Heads of governments in Africa, have occultic alters and shrines were deadly sacrifices are made, and God as abandoned them. There are also secondary factors such as education (knowledge).....

How did they get to the power? Did God abandon them and demote his own people from the Government affairs too?

When somebody, organization, institution, country or continent faces challenge or not where is expected, is unlikely to be as a result of one thing. It will be as a result of multiple factors not just one factor. So personally I can't say is spiritual or intellectual, it goes beyond these two factors.

You made a very controversial statement here, what do you mean by "The spirit has not yet fully matured " I don't get that, Africa as a continent has existed for over 2000 years, how long would it take for the spirit to mature?

I think the problem is intellectual growth. How can we invade someone else's kingdom? We was lucky that there were no casualties and conflict. We still have to develop over a/

Well Africa problem is never spiritual, nor their colour but it stems from low level of civilization in Africa coupled with awkward culture (diabolical believes), Over religiosity of African also make them to be lazy in problem solving skill developments.  "Mortgaging destinies in securing a future syndrome is the greatest problem of Africa "http://scrollcue.blogspot.com.ng/
