CARNAL CHRISTIANS AND SPIRITUAL CHRISTIANS…WHERE DO YOU STAND?
Being saved actually deals eternally with the issue of sin. But sin does not actually die, it is just that as far as you are saved you have an inbuilt resistant that resists sin and you have the power to overcome temptations. If even as a Christian you attract sin with your way of life, sin can still jump on you and make you do things as if you were never saved.
This is the reason why many Christians are still struggling with sin. They fail to understand that even though salvation empowers you to be free from sin, there is also another battle of SELF going on. They fail to understand that the mind was not removed after salvation and can still influence the body. The person has the responsibility of studying the bible daily to be able to renew the mind to conform to the will of God. It is only when your mind is now transformed by God’s word that you can be free from sin even if you are saved. Salvation is the first step; revelation is the next step that brings transformation.
You are saved to be empowered so that sin will no more have dominion over you. When you are saved your mind is not saved. It is still the same. It is your spirit that is saved and quickened; it is now alive and can now communicate with God. But your soul which is made up of your mind, will, intellect and emotion needs constant daily renewal for it to be transformed. Romans 12:1-2.
Christians that refuse to renew their minds with God’s word daily will still find themselves battling with ungodly habits and besetting sins. Hebrews 12:1-2. Carnal Christians are Christians that still tell little lies once in a while; they seek their will rather than the will of God. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and every other thing shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33. Spiritual Christians put God first in all that they do but carnal Christians put themselves first.
Sin is not supposed to be controlling you any more as a Christian. Romans 6:14. But if sin still does it is because your soul is not yet renewed. It means your mind is still easily controlled by the devil. But after today this shall be over in the name of Jesus Christ.
Your body loves to sin naturally and always does what your mind tells it to do. But your body is not programmed to obey your spirit directly; it is programmed to obey your soul which is your mind. In order to make your body obey your spirit, you must make your soul obey your spirit. Then your body will follow suit. And this only happens by daily study of the bible. Romans 12:1-2.
Please Christianity is a responsibility. The world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Romans 8:19. But this can only happen when Christians mature into Son-ship. A son is a spiritual Christian that is led by the spirit of God. Romans 8:14.
To be carnally minded is death and to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:6. A carnal Christian is one who is carnally minded, one who does not constantly renew his/her mind with the word of God
So word-lazy Christians may keep struggling until they start renewing their minds daily with the word of God. It is a DAILY AFFAIR. It is not a Sunday-Sunday thing but everyday. Receive grace to do this from now in Jesus Precious Name.
