What is World AIDS Day?

Since the year of 1988, 1st December is recognized as World AIDS Day. This is done to create awareness about the AIDS pandemic caused by HIV infection, and mourning those who have lost their lives in this. This day is celebrated with education on AIDS prevention and control around the world.
