I want to learn Java in Nigeria

My online mentor, Mr Christian of www.perfectvisualhost.com:  once made a statement that has kept my head spinning for months.  He said "with java, U can do anything" This simple statement has driven a passion to learn java into me.  The problem is I dont know where I can get an expert (like perfectvisualhost.com:  that professionally trained me on web design) to train me on java.  So anybody in the house with answers to that?

One more thing that would assist potential coach is let them know if you would you like to learn java online or offline.
