Coming Back?
« on: »
Hello everyone I got some questions and i was hoping you guys could answer them. These questions are from a "black" American.  Having lived in America all my life I have this disconnected feeling and I want to return. I am a young guy and truthfully I've seen enough of this country. For the most part this place has been nothing but hell for me and everything that could go wrong has gone wrong.  I am wondering how would I be treated? Would I accepted for the most part ? I have heard that there are no go areas for foreigners so  would I have to stay in the big cities? Would I be able to get  housing and employment with realitive ease? Could I get citizenship ? If you were in my position would you return?  Could I get by on just speaking English or will I have to learn ?

Depends on the region or Country in Africa, countries in Africa differ in the way and manner they treat people. But generally Africans at home welcome there brothers and sisters very well. In short, my observation has reviewed that guys with foreign elements (Language, color, education, birth etc from foreign countries) get jobs and treated with respect than those that have had all their life in the Africa.

Every other thing bothers on what I mentioned above. Yes you will be able to get house and employment easy. Concerning citizenship I think it differ from country to country in Africa.

Lastly concerning getting by, if it English speaking Africa countries Like Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Liberia, Kenya, south Africa etc you will get by as this countries speak English as an official language. You only need to learn way and manner people relate no BIG deal man!

There are two places I am thinking about going Ghana and Nigeria.  From my personal experience with Ghanaians I have met here in the states its always been really good  and we all got along pretty well. I am thinking about Ghanna first because I have read that the economy is stable and rising and I want to live in a world class city like Accra. I dont know too much about Nigeria though in regards to the economy.  Is the economy pretty good over there?

According to world bank, current release  about Africa, Nigeria has the highest GDP, thus making Nigeria the biggest economy in the continent of Africa.  The next is South Africa.
