Rather than applying overtly sexy smoky eye makeup, try creating a sense of sensual depth. To modernize this classic look "try taupes, browns and softer greys," says Lee. Playing with makeup is a great – and often inexpensive – way to experiment with a sexier style.

Think you can't pull off red lipstick? Think again. Follow celebrity makeup artist Vincent Longo's advice for the perfect red lip.

(a)For warm skin tones, choose a warm red with yellow undertones, like a brick red.

(b)For cool skin tones, try a blue red, like cherry red.

(c)Those with neutral skin tones should explore red corals.

6. Get Some Metal Mania:
