Sometimes it's an easy choice to leave a company. However, one of the most important choices you can make in your career is to leave your current job on the right track. Like any relationship, there are flaws and virtues, with all companies. At the end of a relationship, people tend to focus on the faults.

Breaking up is hard to do
Leaving a company is like breaking up with a boyfriend or girlfriend. No matter how you do, there will be emotions. The longer the relationship, deeper feelings. Keep this in mind during the separation. People express their emotions differently to be prepared to respond with compassion.

IS A WORLD
I learned first hand not to burn bridges. In fact, I was hired by my former boss in the two years of leaving the company. He had moved to a bigger job with another company and thought of me when a position opened in her apartment. Since I already had a great relationship, the interview process was short and painless. In addition, the work was a significant step for me, both professionally and financially.

DO OR NOT DO?
Here are some do's and don'ts that can help make the transition a little easier for everyone.

DO NOT write and give a simple letter of resignation to your manager and, perhaps, the Director of Human Resources, where applicable. To give a few key elements in writing, that commemorates his intention to leave the company. It also gives the opportunity to pre-game discussion with your boss. The letter should include: his last day at work, open items that you need to complete before leaving, and any work you need to move to another person.

Do not say anything negative about the company or any person working for the company. While this is good policy to use at all times, is even more critical when they leave. Disgruntled employees may seek at this time to express their negative feelings about the company or the people who work for the company. Resist the temptation to think about those conversations. It is likely that your comments be shared with others.

Provide as soon as possible to allow a smooth transition. Typically, this is two to four weeks. Use your best trial to decide how long to make considering what is best for the company. Note that it is possible that the company will ask you to leave immediately, especially if you go to work for a competitor. This is not personal and should not be considered an insult.

Do the hard work to come out. It is perfectly natural to get "the disease in the short timer" as has mental moved to the new position. If the films discussed, books, or relationships, people generally remember the beginning and the end to more than half.

Do not take anything that is not yours. Whether it's a stapler, a book that belongs to the company, copy paper, or paper clips, leave them behind. While you're at it, tidy up a bit.

NOT be available for replacement. If the company hires a replacement before leaving, the supply of trains. Even after leaving, it's a good idea to leave a phone number where you can get with the times is acceptable to call.

NO abuse of email, phone or the internet during his last days. Be sure to keep your communication professional as having during his tenure.

There is no reason they can not yet be friends when it's over. If you are careful to maintain a good reputation with the company, its suppliers, customers and employees, but will pay off significantly. It may not happen immediately, but their paths will cross again.
