If you have experienced a Windows "No audio device" error, most likely the sound card is not installed correctly. Although other problems can cause this error, an improperly installed sound card is the most common cause. If the audio card is not plugged into the motherboard or is not connected an audio driver, this error. It is also possible that the device you are trying to use is not compatible with the motherboard you are using.
Troubleshooting the most common mistake
Here are some steps to solve the most common mistake, a well card installed:
First, you need to find the audio control device or control. This driver is what gives you the ability to adjust the sound for everything. From the Start menu, go to your control panel. Then go to add hardware and find the same hardware. Do not let the search team automatically, because if not properly installed, can not be seen. Then scroll down to sound devices and search for your audio driver. Check the properties of the device and see if it's installed correctly. If not installed correctly, you see a yellow question mark next to the highlighted name of the device
• The best way to solve this problem is to uninstall the sound card and drivers. Restart, enter the bios, disable onboard sound, game port, and midi. Then, restart Windows, go to Add or Remove Programs and ensure that all programs for the device was removed.
You must then reinstall the sound card and drivers. It is possible driver updates have been made since the sound card has been manufactured and released, so it's a good idea to visit the manufacturer's site and see if updated drivers. Once done, restart the computer. The problem is (most probably) the default device in audio properties remains the board, you can select the devices creation and will probably work, but you better turn off the board all together.
Uninstall and reinstall the sound card more than likely fix the problem.
Other troubleshooting tips
If you still have difficulty, try these troubleshooting ideas.
• If you think your sound card may be "dead", before buying a new one, I would recommend a loan that is in full operation from a friend, if possible, and installing that one and see if the error is on the card itself.

• Try using a different PCI slot, so that windows can detect it as new instead of trying to reconfigure into the grooves of today. This can also help determine if one of the slots are bad.
• If you have a sound card, but they are trying to use a sound card to buy separately, make sure a board is disabled.
Always make sure the sound card you buy is compatible with the card. If not stated on the package, do a little research online before buying.
