Is Fast & Furious 11 confirmed?
Fast & Furious 11 which is technically a Fast X Part 2 at this point, has to some degree officially received a confirmed release date, and fans are eagerly anticipating the next instalment after the cliffhanger ending of Fast X. The possible release date was confirmed by Vin Diesel, the franchise's iconic star, he announced in early June 2023 that the movie would likely hit theatres on April 4, 2025. But it's important to note that release dates tend to change, especially when they are this far off, however, before we get to Fast 11, Dwayne Johnson's Hobbs will be getting his own solo movie. That's something to look forward to while we wait for the direct sequel to Fast X.
Following his surprise return in the post-credit scene of Fast X, Dwayne Johnson revealed that his standalone film will serve as "a fresh, new chapter & set up" for the direct sequel of Fast X. While we don't have a release date yet for the Hobbs movie, it is safe to assume that it will precede the highly anticipated Fast X sequel.

The question arises: Could the solo Hobbs movie be part of the trilogy that Vin Diesel hinted at, suggesting that Fast X was just the beginning? Will there be another Fast & Furious movie in addition to Part 2 and the Hobbs solo film? As of this point, details remain scarce, and we eagerly await further information on the future of the franchise.

Now, let's dive into what we can expect from Fast & Furious 11.
As stated earlier, Fast & Furious 11 is scheduled to hit theatres on April 4th, 2025, assuming there are no delays due to the ongoing writers' strike in the US or any other number of things that could surface within the next two years. Universal boss Peter Cramer has already expressed concerns that the strike might end up interrupting the writing process, potentially affecting the movie's timeline. As we do not know when the strike is likely to end this could have significant effects on the movie's final release date. Although it has been confirmed that development is already underway for the 11th instalment, with Fast X director Louis Leterrier returning to helm the project, with the writing team consisting of Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel.

If we were to speculate on the timeline for the movie's production, we could look at Fast X for inspiration. It was wildly reported that filming for Fast X took place from April to August of 2022, in order to meet the release in May 2023. If Fast & Furious 11 were to follow a similar schedule, filming would need to commence around April 2024,in order to alignwith the planned release date. But these are just speculations anyway, because the film's schedule is ultimately subject to what the studio, producers, writers and actors can get behind, so we may have to wait until the writers' strike is resolved to get a clearer picture. As of this moment, the strike has already affected a few other major films, and if it extends to Fast & Furious 11, fans might find themselves on the edge of their seats for even longer.
Now, let's talk about the cast, *spoiler warning* if you haven't seen Fast X you may want to skip this part until you watch it.

Although, the official cast for Fast & Furious 11 has not yet been confirmed,we can make some educated guesses based on the events of Fast X. First and foremost, Vin Diesel will undoubtedly reprise his role as the legendary Dominic Toretto, despite the perilous situation he finds himself in at the bottom of a dam in the finale of Fast X. It's inconceivable that the series would kill off Dom or his son Brian, played by Leo Abelo Perry.

The outcome for Roman played by Tyrese Gibson, Tej (Ludacris), Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel), and Han (Sung Kang) is unknown after their plane was shot down by Aimes (Alan Ritchson), who was revealed to be working with Dante Reyes. While it's possible that one of them might not survive, that does not mean that any of them will be left out of the next movie.
Alan Ritchson expressed his enthusiasm about reprising his role as Aimes, the new Agency leader, and hinted at his character's complexity: "There have been a lot of conversations. I'm amped to play the bad guy and put the gas to the floor. Let's see him try and succeed at what he wants to do. You can decide if he's bad or not, but, yeah, I'm ready."

Michelle Rodriguez and Charlize Theron will also make their return as Letty and Cipher, respectively, after being rescued in Antarctica by Gisele (Gal Gadot), who mysteriously returns from the dead, yeah, it seems like no one is ever truly gone in this franchise, but we are sure you're just as anxious to understand everything that's been revealed. Jason Statham will reprise his role as Deckard Shaw, and we might witness a long-awaited reunion with Hobbs following Dwayne Johnson's surprising cameo in the post-credit scene.
John Cena's Jakob Toretto seemingly sacrificed himself in Fast X, but in this franchise, anything is possible. While Jakob's car exploded, we didn't see a body, leaving room for speculation about his potential return.

Jordana Brewster will return as Mia, Daniela Melchior, who portrayed Isabel, Elena's sister and Dom's son's aunt, might also make a comeback. Additionally, Jason Momoa as Dante, Brie Larson as Tess, are expected to reprise their roles from Fast X.
Other possible returns include Scott Eastwood as Little Nobody and Rita Moreno as Dom, Mia, and Jakob's grandmother. And, as with any Fast & Furious movie, we can't rule out the introduction of a major star. Vin Diesel has hinted at the possibility of Robert Downey Jr. joining the franchise but that is at the moment just a mention with no concrete wheels in motion just yet.
If Fast & Furious 11 marks the end of the Fast Saga, it's likely that Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner will have a presence in the film. The exact nature of his appearance remains unknown, but Meadow, Walker's daughter, made a cameo in Fast X, hinting at a potential larger role within the Toretto family.

Fast & Furious 11promises to deliver another adrenaline-fueled adventure for fans of the franchise, with a semi-confirmed release date of April 4, 2025, while we await further details on the film's cast and production schedule, one thing is certain: Fast & Furious 11 will keep audiences on the edge of their seats with its signature mix of high-speed action, thrilling stunts, and unexpected twists.
