Four Nigerians who contested the British Parliamentary elections have won seats to represent their constituencies. They are: Chuka Harrison Umunna, of Igbo descent, a member of the British Labour Party who has been a member of Parliament (MP) since 2010; Helen Grant; Chi Onwurah and Kate Osamor. Grant, a lawyer, won her seat under the British Conservative Party. By her election, she becomes the first Conservatives female black MP.
