Plumbers specialize in installing and maintaining water systems. Like electricians, are required to obtain a license from a vocational or professional school, and have a background in various aspects of industrial pipe, domestic and communal hot water (steam and gas-fitters), water treatment ( as water cleansing and purification), drainage, sewerage systems, the dynamics of water flow, water storage, temperature control, and the dangers of water hazards.

Plumbers get their name from the Plumbum America to "lead" as the ancient Romans used lead pipes. The term refers to both the output of the metallic element that is its main building material.

Interestingly, Einstein, the father of modern mathematics, admired the plumber

"If I would be a young man again and had to decide how to make my life, I do not try to become a scientist or a researcher or teacher. I would rather choose to be a plumber in the hope of finding that modest degree of independence yet available in the current circumstances. "- Albert Einstein, The Reporter, November 18, 1954

Shortly after this review was published, Einstein was granted a honorary membership to the Plumbing and Steamfitters Union, AFL in Washington DC, which made the genius, in fact, a plumber. The new title pleased Einstein, although he allegedly was not looking or expecting praise. When it comes to solving the great mathematical mysteries of the universe, Einstein would have been the first to be considered. Who knew it would be the person to call to fix the water pipes, too?

Plumbers are unsung heroes. These businessmen and women work hard in demanding jobs and have a basic knowledge and understanding about the basic need that all civilizations and human needs to thrive and survive: water! These plumbers make sure everyone has safe water to drink every day and clean water for bathing. They are the lifeline of humanity!
