When the symptoms are in its maximum potential psoriasis treatment is the only solace as the sufferer will resort to any form of treatment that promises a hundred percent result. The symptoms being flaky skin with or without reddishness and this will appear on any part of the body. Other than modern medicine, herbal medicine and ayurveda are also used in the process of curing the disease but the results are variable. There are five types of psoriasis : plaque, guttate, inverse, erythrodermic and pustular of which plaque psoriasis is the most common. Sometimes, psoriasis occurs as a secondary infection to a pre-existing condition like diabetes, heart disease or depression. It is widely acknowledged that psoriasis is an auto-immune disorder and there are many natural remedies that may help ease the symptoms. Some patients have reported to use fish oil, milk thistle, and dietary supplements that readily ease the symptoms. But, as in the case of triggering factors, some factors that help one may have no effect on another. It is best to find out what triggers the problem on an individual basis as is done in Ayurveda and treat it accordingly. As per the national Psoriasis foundation, soy, nuts, cranberries, chocolates are listed as 'functional foods'. As naturalistic treatment, olive oil application, fish oil works for many and so does panchakarma treatment with succeeding therapeutic practices. Since diet and lifestyle plays a role in triggering the symptoms it is best to follow ayurvedic principles that will helping regaining the body's lost balance.
