I posted a thread back in September about chronic digestive issues among other things that until a week ago was making headway into recovery. I'm 19, 195 lbs, and 5'9. I lift weights as a hobby and from jan-feb got deadlift to 420 lbs and my squat to 360. About a week and a half ago I had a bowel movement and bled a lot into the bowl. I suspected this came from my pilonidal sinus but since it has never bled that much I went to the doctor reluctantly on my dads concern to get it checked out. Rectal exam confirmed blood but the occult stool test was all negative. My blood test revealed I am borderline anemic with rbc of 4.71, and hematocrit of 41.7. Reference ranges for rbc was 4.70-6.something, and hematocrit was 42.0-something. Point is the counts were low and I'm not bleeding from my gastrointestinal tract, nor would my pilonidal sinus cause this as it does not bleed all the time or enough to cause such a drop. My creatinine was elevated at 1.06, normal being less than 1.00. My lymph count was 14.4%. Normal being 20 and above. My neutrophils were high at 73% normal being 43-65. My chloride was low and my basos level was high. For the past two weeks or so since this all started I have lost all of my strength that I worked 2 months for and I am much more tired than usual, I am actually sleepy and can sleep the day away easily. I have lost a few pounds (was around 200). Doctor wants to retest in a few weeks, says no,big deal. Considering every blood I've had has been completely normal as far as blood count, I'm naturally worried. What's weird is that fact I never drink enough water so I know I was at least slightly dehydrated for the test, meaning my count should be higher if I'm dehydrated. My creatinine would be higher if I was dehydrated, but my blood count was low, which is what scares me. Next time I get tested if I'm actually hydrated it will read even lower.. Anyway this is frustrating and its gonna be hard to wait 3 weeks for a retest but I know it's for the best. I have looked at several possibilities. Autoimmune hemolytic anemia (yeah I know crazy but my dog has just gotten over it and being treated), anemia, kidney disease? What do you guys think? Sorry for the long post, thought I would never have to post here again.
