There are times when a blogger, like any other writer, to "loose the muse." Every idea that comes to mind seems either trite or dull or, worse still, no ideas come to mind. What is a blogger to do? Here are five tactics that could clear the cobwebs and allow you to find an idea that has inspired another great post:

Start with the news! Open your favorite news page or open a newspaper and see what catches the eye. What are the politicians up to today? Any pending legislation that worries you or flat out scares you? Or maybe someone is running for office or proposing a law that you may want to publicly support. Some celebrities are sure to be in trouble, has something to say? Maybe you have an idea about who should go or whom to marry. Who died? A nice commemorative message for a good person can be in order. What happened 'on this date "in recent years? Some past events are worth researching and writing about. Are you into sports? Many bloggers or blog readers are sports fans and who may be interested in your opinion on the playoffs or the players. Do not forget to visit the editorial and letters to the editor - Do you agree with the views? Tell the world why or why not.

Read some blogs! Start browsing your favorite blogs. What are you talking about? You may have a different perspective on the latest hot topic might be interesting for your fellow bloggers or a perspective that might make them angry (of course, never worry about making bloggers mad - most of them like to have something to complain). If you can not find anything that inspires you in your favorite blog, browse through some of those blogs that always make you mad, that seem to promote everything that goes against their lifestyle. Anger is always a good motivation blog, but not so angry that the irrational. Comment on some blog posts and then expand your comments on a post in your blog. Also try to log on Blog Explosion, Blog Clicker or one of the many other programs traffic generator blogs - there are plenty of ideas out there that are writing a value from a for or against.

What have you been watching or reading? Have you read any good (or bad) books lately? Write about your latest read - recommend it, it's called or even write a summary of your blog (but do not give away the end). What about movies, great or pitiful losers might be worth a few words good or bad - you could do movie reviews or book regular features of your blog. The same goes for television programs. Start of a series that follows your favorite TV show, can be quite a few fans of the series itself will be interested in your decision and appreciate your summary of the episodes you missed. If a program book, film or television that you thought was a big no is sure to be a critical filtered. Find the bad review and write a message in the fight against the opinions of the reviewers.

What have you been doing? Your workplace, your co-workers, that the chiefs, their homes and families are easy prey for your blog - keep it short and fun and have a great post. Once you enter a person of particular interest to your readers you may want to do some sequels. When was your last vacation trip - to write a Travelog on where you've been or do some research on places you'd go and write about them.

Do you have a special ability? If you can do something unique or something that is common but made special because of what he knows, there may be people interested in knowing how. Giving advice on cooking, sewing, cleaning, repair projects, pet care, child care, beauty secrets, personal care or organizing tips. Make it a regular feature on his blog. If you have a digital camera to find an interesting subject, take some pictures and then write something based on the subject. If you found interesting or funny or sad that someone else likely to interest.
