I have often pondered this question?

Here are my own thoughts based on the complex issue.

Most websites I visit have some sort of AdSense system, I reckon some of them are making good money in the Google system. Indeed, sites with more than 1000 visitors per day should receive a small amount of income.

In general I think the adsense system is a good idea, but like most things these days AdSense system has been misused by people who fully understand how search engines work, unfortunately these people have already made his money. These people have used many tactics in the past to increase their page ranking sites, thus ensuring more visitors, more visitors mean more income from the system. These sites usually remain open for a few months and then closed, the next moment it opened. This practice has been going on for years. Sites can be purchased every day on Ebay, I guess they are about to be banned.

What usually happens when a misuse of some people is a system leads to other stresses, and in this case has happened. Google is sandboxing new sites for longer. Saying that the company had to act, have now been introduced to update the "Big Daddy." This update has affected the sites that have a large number of irrelevant links or millions of web pages, irrelevant. Unfortunately, it has also affected the classification of enterprises genuine, hopefully this is just a temporary blip. My own opinion is the Internet should be a level playing field for all, but somehow I doubt it ever will be.

I think there is a place adsense on most sites, provided that it is discreet and well-established and is not out of place, (fonts, colors, etc) Most importantly, think about what you want from your visitors. Most sites offer a product to potential customers. This makes the dilemma of balancing potential adsense revenue from loss of a potential customer, what I mean by that is, a visitor may be interested in your site, however, may lose Google immediately. So in my opinion is that if the site has a product that is sold, you should never use AdSense on your homepage.

In conclusion, I like the system is easy to configure and easy to use. I hope Google manage to filter the ethical element in the end only spoil things for everyone.
