Since I started promoting my website, I found a wide range of web directories, and I have to admit that this question has been bothering me ever since. If any good Web Directories for the Internet?

Let's start to clear out the first form. The main purpose of web directories is to promote web sites. This is not usually done directly, by directing users through their blogs, web directories, and do not understand a lot of traffic, but indirectly.

The way this indirect promotion works is that, after a website is registered in several web directories, search engine crawlers to "see the links and count them, increasing the page rank and results Search for specific web page.

Ok, this is fine, but what about the Internet? Let's be honest, 99 percent of the people who visit web directories are webmasters that want to promote their websites, getting a links. Web directories have never been very attractive to surfers. But can be attractive? Well, I suppose you could. And the only way to do this is to be easier to use and provide surfers with useful content.
What I mean by this is that web directories, web sites can become popular if, instead of providing a mediocre list of websites sorted by the amount of money that each of them paid for their inclusion in the web directory would provide a list of major websites of Internet has to offer for each category. This list must be maintained by the administrator of the site, searching the web and choose top websites.
Of course, this means you can not wait for people to submit Web pages to your directory. You have to get to work on finding the websites surfers might interest Another funny thing I might add is that it allows users to vote on the websites listed. This is a very nice addition because it adds an interactive element to the website and the orders of the web sites of the classifications made by surfers.
My previous experiences with web directories or 'Top 100' websites have been appaling. All websites are filled with second grade bonds, the type of websites that are waiting for malware to be honest. Well, this kind of 'top 100 websites Tom "link to" Jerry car magazine up', two months old news just does not work. This is not what they want to watch surfers. Neither the type of MS-DOS graphics in 32 colors, no sponsored links or suggested web.
I really hope that the future will bring best web directories to the scene. Be honest! There are many great websites out there that surfers do not know and so little places where you can find information about them.

Well, this is my opinion on web directories. I hope you enjoyed reading it!
