African webmaster, internet online marketers in this context means African internet marketers based in Africa i.e. any internet marketer that operates from Africa, this doesn’t mean color or race.
Having cleared that African marketers in my observation are not telling the whole truth in their online marketing activities in terms of being African continent friendly on Products they deal on, Payment system, What they tell Newbies, What they Promote etc. Below are break down of these points:
Products African marketers deals onMost products and services Africa internet marketers deals on are not Africans friendly, an interesting part is that they know that product they’re dealing on are not, yet on daily basis they try to sell the products to Africans in the continent. The truth of the matter is that even the products owners (which are often non African company) don’t have Africans region in mind while developing the products or services.
Payment system for African Internet marketersAfricans and banks in Africa haven’t have in place online payment system that is generally acceptable by every marketers both within Africa and outside Africa, yet Africans internet marketers ignore this aspect, being one of the important of internet marketing and don’t care much only for them to be trapped along the line. That is why isn’t uncommon to hear that webmasters/Internet marketers in Africa saying that their money is trapped in foreign websites account. Also those who wants to pay use third parties (unconventional means) who could be anybody to make payment sometimes duped along the line.
What African Internet marketers tell NewbiesA lot of upcoming newbies in Africa aren’t told the whole truth about what internet marketing really is. You hear internet marketers telling upcoming ones how billions are made online, how they don’t have to lift a finger, how millions are made within 24 hours, they set it up in the night by the morning there are thousands of hungry buyers, how they can buy their dream car within a week, how he or she(the internet marketer) is doing the same and how he or she(the newbie) will do the same. Whereas internet marketing in Africa requires hard work, just like any other business in the street of Africa no matter your country in Africa be it Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria, Liberia, Kenya etc. Bad side of this is that some people quit their jobs to start internet business acting based on what they’re being told, only for them to realize that it doesn’t work that way.
What African internet marketers PromoteMost African internet marketers promote foreign products, services and programs that isn’t African friendly and selfishly position them as if it is. You see it in Affiliate programs, MLM, PPC etc. The sad part is that people don’t realize this and as a result they keep on signing up for such programs. For example imagine you add PPC code in your website it takes months or even a year to earn to a point they will pay you (only if you earn at all). It takes three months to have your cheque, you deposit it in bank in Africa, it then takes another two months for it to be cleared. Making it five months for you to have your money, if you have bills and third part you need to pay, would they be patient waiting for all these?
Yes, they’re wire transfer but by the time they deduct all the charges you will be left with little or nothing.
