The search engine optimization (SEO) process consists of designing, writing and coding of web pages to increase the likelihood of the top of search engine results for specific keyword phrases. Many so-called SEO experts say they have invested search engine algorithms designed and created strategic use "doorway pages" and cloaking technology to maintain long-term positions of the search. Despite all these claims, the foundations of a successful campaign search engine have not changed in all the years we have provided these services.

To get the best overall, long-term positions in search engines, all three components must be present in a web page:

Text component

Binding component

The popularity of the components

All major search engines (AltaVista, FAST Search, Google, Lycos, MSN Search and other Inktomi-based engines) use these components as part of their search engine algorithms. Sites that have (a) all components on its website, and (b) have optimal levels of all components of a good performance in search engines in general.

Text component

Since search engines create lists of words and phrases in the URL, then it naturally follows that in order to do good in search engines, you should put these words into their web pages in HTML tags strategically.

The most important part of the text component of a search engine algorithm is the selection of keywords. To ensure that your target audience to find your site in search engines, your pages should contain keyword phrases that match the phrases your target audience is typing in search queries.

Once you have determined the keyword phrases to use in their web pages, you must place them within the HTML tags. Search engines are not insisting on the same HTML tags. For example, Inktomi read Meta tags, Google ignores the meta tags. Therefore, in order to do well on all search engines, it is best to place keywords in all HTML tags as possible, without keyword stuffing. So no matter what the search engine algorithm is, you know that your words are contained in documents

Binding component

The strategy of placing keyword rich text on your web pages is useless if search engines have no way of finding that text. The way your pages are linked, and how it is linked to your website to other websites, has an impact on their positions in search engines.

Although search engines are powerful data collection programs, HTML code or scripts can effectively prevent the spider crawling your pages. Examples of navigation systems by the site that may be problematic are:

1. Poor HTML code in all navigation systems, browsers (Netscape and Explorer) can display web pages with sloppy HTML, search engines are not as forgiving as browsers are.

2. JavaScript: All major search engines can not follow links embedded inside JavaScript, including but not limited to mouseovers, matrices and menus. Note: Despite the resources of state renowned design search engine-friendly scripts exist, many of them untested and unproven.

3. Dynamic web pages or databases: pages that are generated through scripts, databases, and / or have one and, $, =, +, or% in the URL may have spider "traps".

4. Flash: Currently, none of the search engines can follow the links embedded in Flash documents.

Therefore, to ensure that spiders have the means to record data on their websites, we recommend you use two formS of navigation on a website: one that appeals to end users, and that engine spiders search can continue.

The popularity of the components

The component of the popularity of a search engine algorithm consists of several sub-components:

Link popularity
Click through the popularity
Web Page Popularity

Achieving optimal Popularity component is not simply obtaining as many links as possible to a website. The quality of sites linking to your site has more "weight" than the number of sites linking to your site. Since Yahoo is the most visited site on the web, Yahoo link to your website carries far more "weight" of a link from a smaller, less visited site. Other highlights that can help generate great popularity LookSmart, Open Directory and About.com. Non-competitive, industry-specific sites (eg javascript.com) are also excellent resources for link development.

Obtaining links from other sites is not sufficient to maintain optimal popularity. The major search engines and directories are measuring the frequency of end users, clicking links to your site and how long they stay in place (ie, reading their websites). They are also measuring how often end users back to your site. All these measures constitute a click-through site popularity.

Search engines and directories to measure link popularity (quality and quantity of links) and click-through popularity to determine which component of the overall popularity of a website.
