Click fraud is a very real concern for anyone who is doing the marketing of the CCP. Click fraud involves any artificially created click on your ad. A human being can create these clicks, or a software program called clickbot can create.

These clicks unfortunately cost you money.

The hard part is identifying click fraud. To do this we must constantly monitor their campaigns, keeping a watchful eye for any abnormalities. You need to pay attention to trends established in his campaign and watch for any divergence in trends. For example, suppose you have an ad group with an average of 8% CTR. Minor variations to this CTR are normal and expected. What happens, however, if this ad group peaks at a CTR of 15% without warning? What to do?

The first thing to do here is check to see if there is any logical reason for this peak. For example, there were some media in the industry that would generate an increase in keyword searches? There may be perfectly reasonable explanations for unexpected traffic spikes. Did you experience an increase in sales? This is another good indicator of actual traffic. If its sales are made to your all traffic should be fine.

If the traffic still seems fraudulent you need to gather as much information as possible about the incident. Record the time when it happened and what keywords were affected. Check the server logs and look for suspicious looking IP addresses or user agents. Once you have compiled all the relevant information you need to contact Google support and enable them to take charge of the investigation. They want access to server logs and any other relevant information. They are very good at what they do, and be patient because their investigation may take some time.

For example, at one point I had gone on a camping trip and had no access to a computer or an Internet connection to manage my campaigns. When I returned I found the traffic and cost associated with a campaign had spiked dramatically, costing me several thousand dollars. Immediately knew that I hit a button click. I contacted Google and began an investigation. A few months later the investigation was completed and found to be a victim of click fraud. I was the repayment of all money from click fraud had cost me and life went on.

If you find Google, click fraud is very competent in their investigation and will be reimbursed if the click fraud is proven fact. If it is determined that click fraud did not happen, it will give an explanation that describes how this was determined.

There are many different reasons for click fraud. The most common is for financial gain. This usually occurs in the content network. Here people pay every time someone clicks on a Google Adsense ad on your site. Some people get greedy and try to generate artificial clicks to make more money. Sometimes you try to click on the ads themselves, but this does not work properly because the recurrence of IP addresses.

Software programs called click bots could be used. These programs use multiple proxy servers to overcome the recurring problems of intellectual property, and also can randomize the behavior so that the traffic looks more natural. These programs vary in complexity and are more difficult to detect.

In the recent past it was discovered that there are companies in places like India, where labor is cheap, they use real people to click on ads. These people are spread out in different places doing the IP addresses of all the different and not power. On the other hand, are real human beings so that their actions may seem more natural. This system can also be difficult to detect.

Other reasons for click fraud include malicious competitors. In this case a competitor either wants you to stop advertising on a keyword, or lower your bid. This often happens as a result of a bidding war. It also often occurs in the current search pages. Any of various methods of generating artificial clicks can be used, and the result remains the same. Increased costs.
