The long dawn
   From the embers of woman-history
Is the eheri of a woman
   Whose thirst
      For a totem of worship
Curdles around the sugar-cane
   Of any man
Who is man enough
To cross her eyes
And dot her tits
Till she could only moan
Legs apart flaming
Mouth gasping for breath
Emotions in achris-crossed sea
Of thunderous silent quakes
Rigmarolling tits
This momentarily scatters
Jelly-like brains
   In all directions
Often wanders one
Thatcould there ever be
Adividing line
   Between the child’s mind

And the Eheri of a woman
Whose mind you wean
If you buy her this or that
This to you seems infinitesimal
   Which to her matters
Her whole world
And if unlucky you’d be
Telling her truths
Not those untruths
She wants to hear
And you’re not fast enough
   To blindfold her
Just use religion
Just use dine in Mr. Biggs
Just half dot her eyes
Just well cross her tits
Just paint her world red
Just whisper women of faith choristers’ song
When your sugar cane in seep buried in her
And the next tune you hear
   Is seeing your woman’s Eheri
Encapsulated around her mans
Beclouded world
Which over time
Becomes her real
Or imagined world
Where in grey years
She either counts her graduate children
Or shear new years’ day jollof rice
To make forty years of failure
   Of
The Eheri of a woman.
