Oral sex is a go-to move for couples for a lot of reasons. It feels good and it is a way of giving pleasure without fear that it will lead to pregnancy. But do you know there is some science to the reasons why we do this?

According to a study published in the Journal of Reproductive Immunology, the reason women perform oral sex on men is because swallowing semen can make your body become accustomed to someone’s DNA.

This is helpful for the immune system during pregnancy because the woman’s body won’t view the man’s genes as “foreign”.

Disorders during pregnancy are often because the body thinks the foetus is a “foreign body” but thanks to swallowing sperm you can acclimatise yourself to the new DNA.

As for why men pleasure women, a study found that giving oral sex is proven to stop ladies from cheating – and the more they get the less likely they are to play away.

Researchers at Oakland University quizzed 243 heterosexual men in relationships to see whether they performed cunnilingus to make their partner feel more satisfied in the sack.

They found that men are more likely to perform oral sex if they think their partner is attractive and at risk of being seduced by another man.
To prevent a woman from straying, men make an effort in the bedroom by making her orgasm through oral.

From an evolutionary angle, this prevents sperm competition which is basically when another man tries to muscle in on your partner.

Another new survey called “Was it good for you too?,”  it was found that men are more likely to receive oral sex but not return the favour.

The study found that 63% of guys said they’d received oral during their last sexual encounter compared to just 44% of women.

Researchers also discovered that more ladies (59%) than men (52%) reported performing oral sex on their partner.
