WHAT DO YOU THINK...?

How true when they say that perception is more powerful than reality. What you perceive is what you will receive.
A young man was strolling pass a garden some time ago and found that some gigantic full grown elephants were held bound by just a strand of rope tied to a small iron. He initially thought the elephants would free themselves anytime and walk away as they had all that is required to do so, unfortunately and disappointingly for him they did not. He then walked up to the trainer and asked why the elephants didn’t make any attempt to go. “Well…” replied the trainer, “when they were very young and much smaller, we used the same size of rope to tie them and they couldn’t break free even though they tried to. At that stage, the tiny rope was enough to hold them. As they grew up they were conditioned to believe that they cannot breakaway. They believe the rope can still hold them so they never try to break free.”
The only reason why the elephants weren’t breaking free and escaping from the garden was because over time they adopted the belief that it just wasn’t possible to break free.
Like the elephants, many people THINK that because they’ve failed at something before they cannot succeed in it anymore, so they can't seem to break free from their past failures into fresh opportunities. If you belong to that school of thought, you need to change your perception. Change your MINDSET. Your attempt may have failed before now but never you fail to make another attempt. Choose not to accept the false boundaries and limitations created by the past. 2018 will be a better year!

This quote holds some truth in this story. The perception of the elephants, influenced by their past experiences, created a belief that they were unable to break free from a small rope. Similarly, people can often be limited by their own beliefs and past failures, preventing them from pursuing new opportunities.
No pain, no gain. contexto

Yes.  If someone perceives something to be true, it is more important than if it is in fact true.

The story underscores the power of perception over reality; our beliefs can limit us just like the elephants, and changing our mindset can help us overcome past failures and realize new possibilities.
