LASG LAUDS ESTABLISHMENT OF OGIDI STUDIOS BY TEMPLE COMPANY

The Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Solomon Bonu, has lauded the establishment of a privately-owned, world-class, audiovisual facility, named Ogidi Studios, by Temple Company in Lekki, Lagos, saying that the Studios will help redirect attention to African creativity.

Bonu, who visited the facility in the company of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Tunji Seymour, ahead of the official opening, said that the Studios signify a paradigm shift among its contemporaries and a reflection of the standard of African excellence among content producers.

He said that the State Government will use the opportunity of the Studios to explore possible areas of partnership and further project its establishment to members of the creative community.

The Special Adviser noted that the visit also reflects the willingness of the present administration to continually support residents in the creative sector to achieve the Greater Lagos dream.

He advised practitioners in the creative industry to leverage on the platform made available by the company to advance their musical and film careers to international standards.

Ogidi Studios, according to the Group Chairman, Temple Company, Mr. Tunde Folawiyo, represents an entire ecosystem of audio and video content production from conception to completion.

Also speaking during the visit, the company's Group Chief Executive, Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe, stated that African talents could now utilise a domestic studio and realise the same outcomes that obtain on the global scene.

He said: "We are excited to contribute our quota to help bring Nigeria to compete favourably with global players such as celebrated international musicians, producers and creative practitioners who had made marks in the industry".

The company's Group Chief Executive, explained that Ogidi Studios comprise of dedicated audio and video production studios which can both accommodate multiple projects simultaneously without interference.

According to him, the audio section includes both rehearsal and recording studios with both analogue and digital facilities sound-proofed with the latest acoustics technology.

"With Ogidi Studio, we are not just building Nigerian music for Nigeria but Nigerian music for the world. We are now operating on the same level using the same technology that is used throughout the world", Olorunnimbe explained.
