Embattled lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to fight the corrupt cabals in the House of Representatives.
Jibrin is currently facing 180 days suspension by the House based on recommendations of the committee on ethics and privileges for alleged misconduct.

The former chairman of appropriation committee, who is currently facing 180 days suspension for alleged misconduct made the call via his twitter handle @AbdulAbmJ, in reaction to a news story titled ‘Presidency insists judges must step down’.
In his tweet, the lawmaker commended the president’s stance that judges facing bribery allegations must step down, but urged the president to also take such stance against those who he described as cabals in the House of Representatives.

It would be recalled that Jibrin was suspended by the House based on recommendations of the committee on ethics and privileges for alleged misconduct.
The lawmakers had accused the House speaker Yakubu Dogara and three other principal officers of padding the 2016 budget with about N40billion before it was passed by the National Assembly.

Following his suspension, Jibrin filed a suit at the Federal High in Abuja on Friday, October 21, seeking N1bn as damages for his suspension. The lawmakers among others, asked the court to declare his suspension as a violation of his fundamental human right to freedom of expression.

He urged the court to declare that the resolution passed by the House of Representatives suspending him was in breach of Section 68 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.

He also requested the court to restrain the House of Representatives from preventing him from participating in the committees of the House or accessing the legislative chambers to perform his legislative duties.
