It was revealed earlier today that the Federal Government has plans to build a helipad in President Muhammad Buhari's hometown of Daura, Katsina state.

According to ThisDay, the plans are underway so as to prevent the President from the stress of a long road journey from the state airport to his home.

"I can tell you that right now, they are building a Helipad in Daura and when it is completed he doesn't have to fly to Katsina Airport again. Helipad is a kind of landing for Helicopters", a source told the newspaper.

The news generated plenty of discussions on social media, with PDP supporters claiming it was just another way to siphon funds, and APC loyalists saying it was a way to cut costs.

I think if done properly, from a time perspective, flying in and out of Daura makes sense. However, proper security is essential.
