PEOPLE OF IZHIA, NGBOEJEOGU AND EFFIUM  PASS VOTE CONFIDENCE ON GOVERNOR UMAHI'S APPROACH TO INSECURITY IN THE STATE.

~PROMISE TO SUPPORT HIM AT ALL TIMES.

The people of Ohaukwu Local Government Area comprising Izhia, Ngboejeogu and Effium have unanimously agreed to support Governor David Nweze Umahi to ensure peaceful co-existence in their respective communities.

The people made the vow during a  Stakeholders Meeting with Governor David Nweze Umahi at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki on Monday.

Presenting the resolutions of the people contained in a seven-point Communique, Senator Anthony Agbo said the people have vehemently resolved to work closely with the Governor  to attain his vision of a crime-free and peaceful Ebonyi State

"We are immensely grateful to God for giving you the grace, the strength and energy to respond to and to tackle the latest security challenges in Ebonyi state headlong which has resulted in a rapid return of peace in every part of our State today. We unanimously, as a people, condemn the unnecessary and avoidable internal crisis that erupted in Efium as well as the unwarranted attack on the people of Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo by strangers. We also condemn the misguided and infantile rants against Your Excellency by poorly informed members of the public. We urge Your Excellency to ignore them as they were speaking from a background of either ingratitude or lack of information"

According to Senator Agbo, the people were thankful to the Governor for his rapid response to the Effium Community Crisis as well as other hostilities in the area

"In particular, we thank you for your rapid, honest and proficient response to the recent Effium community crisis and the attack on the umuogudu Akpu community. In our cases, Your response was Swift, purposeful and full of honest energy. Thank you for all your personal and material interventions in these places including your financial assistance to the affected families of Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo and your strategic support to strengthen the internal security of that place. We wish to put on record that you have distinguished yourself among leaders of contemporary Nigeria in matters of passion and service to the people. With the Situation of things in Nigeria today, only a passionate and committed leader like you will make out time to personally visit scenes or attacks as you have and severally demonstrated, not only in the cases of Effium, Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo but also in other parts of Ebonyi State where similar situations have occurred. Beyond security, we wish to commend you highly for your developmental strides in Ebonyi State particularly in Ohaukwu Local Government Area where we have among other things giant flyover at Ezzangbo junction and 25 Kilometres of the Ezangbo/Ngbo/Effium road already completed. we pray that the good Lord should strengthen you as you continue to deliver the first-class service to the people of Ebonyi state."

While restating their commitment to stand by the Governor in all his programs and policies, the people appealed to the Governor to consider constructing the Ngbo Court/Okwo/Otinyi Road to ease the difficulties of the road users.

"We request the construction of Ngbo Court/Okwo/Otinyi Road, which was part of the matters presented before you the day you visited Umuogudu AKpu, Ngbo, the construction of 10 Kilometres of Effium urban roads which were part of your promise during May 12, 2018, Solidarity Rally at Ohaukwu Local Government Headquarters as well as Effium/Inikiri road to link up with Benue State, the construction of Nkwo/Amike/135 Road, Ezzangbo and finally, Your Excellency, we request that you persuade other Governors of the South East to embark on similar Town Hall meetings/consultations with their stakeholders as you are doing. This is to ensure that your beautiful work of genius in Ebonyi State is not sabotaged by a spillover of security challenges from our neighboring states."
