2019 Presidency: The deal between APGA and APCAIF Media has stumbled on the deal between APGA and APC over the 2019 presidential election. The deal was sealed in China when the president visited the country in September this year. Gov Obiano was in the president's delegation to China where the APC/APGA alliance for 2019 was reached.
According to our source, as part of the deal that produced 21/21 magic victory which had the support of Abuja, APGA was expected to adopt president Buhari as the party's presidential candidate for 2019 general election, but the planned adoption was reviewed at the China meeting between APGA and APC leaders.
During the review of how APGA could help APC win the 2019 presidential election, it was agreed at the China meeting that APGA would field an APC member and a friend to the Presidency as her presidential candidate.
The meeting agreed that adopting Mr President by APGA will not change the minds of ndigbo and would not make southeast region to vote for APC. They therefore looked for an alternative option of APGA fielding a presidential candidate from north central who is not an Hausa or Fulani man. The idea is to use him to divide Igbo votes.
They reasoned that a Benue man maybe seen by ndigbo as part of them and would rather vote for him than voting a core northerner.
It was at that meeting that Gen John Gbor was handed over to APGA as their presidential candidate.
Gen John Gbor is a friend of the presidency and a known APC apologist. He is in APGA to divide Igbo votes and ensure that Southeast do not produce block vote as witnessed in 2011 and 2015 general elections.
From our source, APC will fund his presidential campaigns in southeast. Agu Awka will in turn use its usual propaganda machinery to project him. This is the sole reason Obiano aides are already pushing "4 is better than 8" agenda.
The "4 is better than 8" agenda is a direct campaign for President Buhari's reelection bid. It has nothing to do with Gen John Gbor, the APGA surrugate.
However, their plot got defeated with the choice of Peter Obi as the Vice Presidential candidate of PDP. Obi's choice is fast unitung ndigbo irrespective of party affiliation.
Had it been that Atiku picked his running mate from Southwest, ndigbo would ve had no choice than to go with Gbor of APGA under the deceit of nkea bu nke anyi. APGA campaign would have been that the presidential battle is between Hausa and Yoruba agenda.
AIF Media also gathered that Gen Gbor has refused to wear APGA uniform because he does not believe in the party or her eternal leader, Gen Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu.
