The federal government has uncovered an outrageous 60,000 ghost workers in various federal establishments in Nigeria. This was the outcome of the recent staff audit of the federal government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) on the implementation of the integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).

It will be recalled that 50,000 was the earlier figure announced by the coordinating minister for the economy (CME) and minister of finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
