GOVERNOR DAVID NWEZE UMAHI SWEARS IN NEW SET OF MEMBERS OF STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL


~Tasks appointees on performance


Governor David Nweze Umahi has sworn in a new set of Commissioners, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to pilot the affairs of the respective MDA's going forward.


Governor Umahi performed the swearing-in at the Executive Council Chambers of the old Government House, Abakaliki on Wednesday.


Some of the Commissioners sworn in include: Chief Clement Nweke-Commissioner for Housing and Rural Development, Mrs. Ann Aligwe-Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Hon. Charles Akpuenika-Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development,  Mrs. Chinwe Okah-Commissioner for Women Affairs, Pastor Eze Nwachukwu Eze-Commissioner for Markets and Parks Development, Chief Emmanuel Uguru-Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Hon. Oluchukwu Ukezeali-Commissioner for Project Monitoring, Chief Moses Ogodoali Nome-Commissioner for Agriculture,  Mrs. Elizabeth Ogbaga-Commissioner for Culture and Tourism and Barrister Chioma Nweze-Commissioner for Investment.


The SSAs included Ogbuefi Enekwachi Akpa-SSA Local Government and Rural Development, Prince Sunday Ugwochi-Environment and the SA's include Jennifer Adibe Nwafor-Labour Matters, Hon. Collins Agbo-Local Government, Amauche Otunta Godwin-Government Housé and Mrs. Patience Offor Okorie-Her Excellency's Office.


Others are Comrade Gideon Onwe-Student Affairs, Mr. Simon Anyigor-Education, Engr. Felix Otta-Ring Road Project, Engr Obinna Ibaki-Airport Project and Onyeabor Ngene-Special Duties.


Also sworn in are Honourable Emma Obasi-Principal Secretary, Barrister Tony Okah- Chairman Revenue Appeal Commission and Mr. Oshim Phinidy-Coordinator Oshiri Development.


Governor David Umahi while addressing the appointees charged them to deliver roundly on their schedules of duty.


While restating his Administration's commitment to revitalizing the Frontline Ministries like Education, Health among others, Governor Umahi congratulated the appointees on their reappointment's.


"My brothers and sisters, let me say congratulations to all of you, Chief Clement Nweke is the Commissioner for Housing, Mrs. Aligwe Ann is Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring,  Charles Akpuenika remains Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Mrs. Chinwe Okah is the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Barrister Joe is Commissioner for Intergovernmental Affairs, Barrister Chioma Nweze who was SSA Investment now becomes the Commissioner for Investment, Pastor Eze Nwachukwu is now Commissioner for Markets and Parks Development, Chief Emmanuel Uguru is the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Honourable Oluchukwu Ukezeali is the Commissioner for Project Monitoring, Barrister Elizabeth Ogbaga Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Chief Moses Ogodoali Money is still the Commissioner for Agriculture"


Earlier, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Cletus Ofoke said all the appointments satisfied legal provisions and congratulated the appointees on their successful screening by the House of Assembly and swearing-in by the Governor.


On behalf of all the appointees, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Chief Clement Nweke thanked the Governor for finding them worthy to serve again and pledged to work hard to justify his confidence in their ability.
