Governor Obiano Inaugurates Panel Of Inquiry

A Judicial Panel Of Inquiry into the activities of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Anambra state has been inaugurated.

Governor Willie Obiano inaugurated the panel at the Executive Chambers of Government House, Awka today, Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

The panel is headed by Retired Justice Vivian Umeh.

Inauguration of the panel premised on Governor Obiano's promise to #ENDSARS protesters on Thursday last week.

Others are Barrister Uju Nwogu, Professor Theresa Obiekezi, Mr. Mark Okoye, Dr. Bonaventure Enemali, AVM Rtd. Ben Chiobi

Bishop Johnson Ekwe, Rev. Fr. Kenneth Oraehbunam and Rev John Ndubuisi are  the representatives of the Angican, Catholic and Anambra state CAN respectively.

Others are, Mr Joseph Ekwunife, representing PFN, Igwe Nnamdi Oruch representing the Traditional rulers, representatives from women lawyers, NUAS, three senatorial zones, NYSC, Civil Liberties Organization, NYCN, ASATU and  Ohaneze Youth, ENDSARS Group and the Civil Society Network.

Members of the panel immediately went to work.
