Mr. Osom Makbere, Bayelsa State publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, has said apart from the crack in the PDP, the excessiveness of Mrs. Patience Jonathan, the wife of the president, contributed to Jonathan's loss in the March 28 presidential polls. Makbere who hinged why Jonathan lost on myriads of factors spoke with news men in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

Osom further said both international and domestic factors, joined together led to President Jonathan's exit from ASO villa. He said Patience Jonathan's personal ambition to plant 'self-made’ governors did not go down well with some governors, which led to a faceoff. Makbere finally said the APC will perform worse than the PDP at every helm of affairs. Responding, But Secretary, Bayelsa APC, Mr. Marlin Daniel, said the APC comprises of men of proven integrity and as such the claim of worse performance is not only misleading but unfortunate.
