"I'M CONCERNED ABOUT NIGERIA'S UNITY"_Okorocha
The senator representing Imo west in the national assembly, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has expressed confidence that Nigeria can never break.
Speaking at the 4th Annual Conference of the Association of Local Government Vice Chairman of Nigeria , ALGOVC in Abuja , Okorocha said Nigeria remains an indivisible country.
His words " If Nigeria will ever break it will take ALGOVC to break it, but seeing that you are united I am confident that Nigeria remains an indivisible country"
" Everyday I wake up I am more concerned about the unity of our country, I am concerned about what is happening to my country people, but I want to assure all of you that this nation of ours is not finished and can never be finished , what is happening now is a story that we must write and the history that must take place for us to get to the point of our greatness"
" Many countries in the world China, Germany and America all went through this same way in one time in their history, Nigeria is only writing a history that we will one day say, behold Nigeria once went through this, I am convinced beyond all reasonable doubt that Nigeria will be the greatest country in the world one day"
" My appeal to you all is please bear with the situation; yes there is hunger in the land; yes things are not right; yes there is poverty; yes millions of children are not going to school, but I want you to still have faith in this entity called Nigeria " Okorocha said
" Our problem today is that we have three different categories of Nigerians , there are some Nigerians who think about themselves alone, there are some who think about their tribe and religion and we have very few citizens of the federal republic of Nigeria"
" Nigerians who think about themselves are selfish Nigerians, those who think about their community and tribe are called tribesmen and those who think about the nation are called citizens, unfortunately forty percent of Nigerians are selfish Nigerians and over fifty percent are tribesmen and only ten percent are true citizens who think about the nation and other Nigerians"
" we must never allow tribesmen and selfish Nigerians to occupy a place of leadership in Nigeria again , be it local government chairman, be it governor or be it the president of this nation "
