INEC IS A JOKE


On thursday, I was in CBN to monitor the distribution of INEC sensitive materials in Anambra State. Most of the sensitive materials (All the ballot papers, EC8 AII and Voting Points) were taken to every local government in Anambra State. The only materials undistributed were the EC8 AI, and result sheets for presidency which they claimed were in Port Harcourt Airport.


So, yesterday morning around 7am, I returned to CBN to continue from where we stopped. I spent the whole day inside CBN, food was brought to me around 9 last night.


As at 2:35a.m this morning, I was still in CBN Awka where INEC sensitive material was being sorted. Some Senatorial result sheets of Ihiala, Onitsha South and 2 other local governments were missing. I wrote a complaint immediately to be acknowledged by the Commission. The most sensitive document which is a blue booklet was given to the electoral officers of the various local government around 2:30am this morning.


And all of a sudden, the top staff of INEC went to the guy in charge of distribution and they spoke in low tones before he took the Public Address System to address us. He called back the blue booklets and told us that the election has been postponed and all the sorted materials will remain in CBN till next week Friday.


I was furious. I was very very angry. It must be an expensive joke.


As of yesterday, over 13 of my friends traveled from their base to their area where they can exercise their right. Chux Obigwe left Abuja since Wednesday for this election to Anambra to cast his vote and has been paying hotel bills since then. Charles Jr Ndu left Warri around 2 pm yesterday. While I was still in CBN, Amaefuna Amyci Anieto called. He would be voting in Umunnachi and he would lodge in a hotel in Ifitedunu. He has planned to leave his hotel room to the polling unit before 6a.m. And this happened.


This guys are crazy. They waited till few hours to the election to cancel what we have waited for for 4years. This guys are insensitive, who will pay back the citizens all they spent?


Nigerian saw through INEC. They wanted to conduct elections in some areas and leave other areas so that what happened in Osun State will repeat again.


Excuses everywhere, but I want the public to know that most of the sensitive materials are out there in the open.


All eyes must be on the ball.
