The major opposition party, All Progressives Congress, has vowed to bring to an end the 16-year rule of the Peoples Democratic Party at the federal level in 2015.

The chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the party, Akin Oke, said the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan would be voted out of power as "Nigerian voters are expected to effect a desirous change through the ballot boxes and throw up only the genuine democrats and patriots as their political leaders."
