Few days ago, many believed Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, was a frontrunner on the list of possible vice-presidential candidates for APC in the forthcoming election. However, sources revealed that the Governor has finally been knocked off because the slot has been zoned to the Ekiti/Ondo axis of the South-West geo-political zone. Another important reason was the calculation of the APC king-makers that a Muslim-Muslim ticket like the 1993 presidential election, where the late business mogul, M.K.O. Abiola chose a Northern Muslim, Babagana Kingibe as his running mate would not fly in today's Nigeria.
