On a shocking note, operatives of the zonal intervention from the Zone 2 police command in Onikan, Lagos have discovered a den for ritualists in Ogun state.

The discovery was made at Abule Ifa, Siun area of Obafemi Owode local government in Ogun state. The two leaders of the fetish syndicate were arrested by the police, in their possession was found several fetish materials and charms.

Abdulmajid Ali the Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of police in charge of zone 2, led a team of senior police officers, including: The commissioner of police, Ogun state police command, Mr Ahmed Iliyasu; Officer in Charge of Operations, Zone 2, DCP Suleiman Balarabe; Commander of the ZIS, CSP Gbenga Megbope, and Commander 16 Police Mobile Force, Chika, among others, to the den.

The reason for the trip was to assess the den and provide legal means to pull it down. According to the AIG, the den was dangerous and the discovery and subsequent arrest of the suspects were made following a tip-off.

According to Vanguard, the den was used by some fraudsters and ritualists to defraud people and carry out evil acts.

The AIG said: “The operatives, who had been on surveillance of the men of the underworld, were able to arrest the ring leaders of the syndicate identified as Taiwo Adeleke, 47, and Kayode Oseni, 52.”

He also commended the policemen for doing a good job and stated that all was in place to tackle crime and criminality in the area.

“Necessary legal steps will be taken to take over the structure and dislodge the syndicate,” he concluded, adding that the suspects would be charged to court.

Meanwhile, there is pandemonium in Rumuolumeni community in Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers state following the alleged invasion of ritualists in the area.
