*Shocking: Dapo Abiodun pays former Daily Times MD, Ogunbiyi, others, $1million to defame Amosun, Akinlade*

*Leke Shote, Ijebu–Ode*

A governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun, had bribed a former Daily Times Managing Director, Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi, with a sum of $1million to tarnish the good image of Governor Ibikunle Amosun, and his anointed candidate, Hon. Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade ahead of 2019 general election.

According to a reliable source, who craved anonymity, Dr. Ogunbiyi is to coordinate other national newspapers' editors in the mission to discredit Amosun and demarket Akinlade.

It was learnt that Chief Olusegun Osoba had used his influence as the former MD of Daily Times to facilitate the unethical and malicious arrangement.

Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi who is the Pro-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University,Ile-Ife and a founding member of the Guardian newspaper in Nigeria, had been carrying out the said assignment which has resulted to the recent media bashing Amosun and Akinlade has been receiving lately.

It was gathered that General Managers of some national televisions like TVC, Channels, AIT, STV and the rest are also involved in the corrupt practice.

The source informed our correspondent that the affected editors of national newspapers this time had started rewriting news stories sent to them by their reporters to favour Dapo Abiodun.

Based on the latest arrangement, the media 'war' against Amosun and Akinlade would be intensified from Monday October 29, as articles, editorials and news stories would be published to drag Amosun and Akinlade's reputation through the mud and put them into disrepute as the 2019 general election draws nearer.
