The term `megalomania' amply describes the hysteria sweeping through the country where every two-penny tribal leader thinks he/she is the most suited , experienced and popular to lead this country to dizzying heights of development .

While it is the constitutional right of any Kenyan to contest any seat, the timing is seriously out of alignment. At this juncture, the 2012 presidency is the least of our worries. Kenyans are besieged from all quarters; hunger, joblessness, floods, insecurity, corruption, a paucity of essentials and serious inflation occasioned by a lethargic central bank unable to execute its supervisory and regulatory roles effectively. No wonder our central bank governor was ranked last in Africa in terms of performance.
