THE ROLES OF THE YOUTHS IN THE ELECTIONEERING PROCESS.

Who are the youths? Here we are talking about adults from ages 18 to  45. Going by this age bracket one can easily see that a larger percentage of the electorate are youths and therefore, they can be a formidable force in winning any given election for any candidate they choose to align themselves with. However, for the youths to play crucial role in election winning, they must shun all the negative tendencies such as allowing themselves to be bought over by greedy politicians who used them to thwart the electoral process and subvert the wishes of the masses in a poll.

First and foremost, the youths should not treat election as business as usual. They must ask any candidate seeking election or reelection his or her plans and what they intend to do differently. They should always guide against being blinded by ethnicity, religion or social background and support candidates who are genuinely eager to bring positive changes, progress and development. To achieve this purpose, the youths should be championing and take part fully in the electoral process . Elections are not won on social media, and using a particular candidate on your display picture will not make such candidate win election if there is no serious campaign, perhaps, the process starts from registering and collecting the PVCs, convincing people to vote for a particular candidate and coming out to cast your vote on the election day.

Again, since the majority of the voting populace is made up of youths, one can imagine what will happen when they leverage on the power they have and explore their population and strength. Now, that election is around the corner, youths should be bold to identify with promising politicians who have their interest at heart. As youths, we must be ready to hold our leaders responsible by making the right choice and by refusing to be used and dumped for selfish reasons.

From the foregoing, I believe Afam Ezenwafor ( AFAMATION ) as a youth who is at the vanguard of championing youth empowerment will represent us very well.

Afam Ezenwafor's election Is My Project ( in fact, I take it as if am the one contesting) as I work to ensure it materializes, I intend to achieve its success by preaching the gospel to the nooks and crannies of my Ward, Town and Constituency. With the efforts of the youths and other electorate, the Messenger will be victorious in the election and the youths will for once, feel the impact of effective and good representation.
