Yes, because most of Africa's families are practicing foreign systems.

Not only in Africa. This happen in most of the countries I guess. I did many researches to find names according to their cultures and countries all around the world. But here I wanted to say very sadly that I have found only few people which have putted their cultural names and most of the new generations have changed their names to new foreign names.

ChuckWag, I like your angle to this issue as it seems that Africans most times see certain challenge as peculiar to them.
But what could be the cause of this?

Africans names are beautiful, loving, very meaningful and represent the origin Africa. Africans born in Africa don't really have challenge with bearing their names. Is common among those not born in Africa. I think with some orientation there will be striking of balance.

    • BAHARI WAKATI 3400 - Futuristic Concept

Each country and nation of the world there is what they are easily identified with; NAME is one of such identity.

A lot of Africans prefer answering foreign names such as John Peter, Samuel judge, smith clement among others instead of their Africa’s name.
Even in the Church you can’t baptize using your Africa’s name, what is going on?

It is the effect of colonialism and neocolonialism. Africa was colonized for more than 500 years, that leaves quite a lot of influence in standards in the continent which lock and disrupt the true genuine African perspectives and cultures. Perhaps one day Africa will be free?! Got to believe that day will come...

Are you saying that Africa is yet not free and who is holding it's freedom?
