Don't be a proud and poor person in attitude and deeds. There was a time I was living in a village in Osun state.


These villages share the border and are about thirty minutes drive to Akure in Ondo State, I encountered this very pompous banker.


In the entire Village, there was only one bank. Generally the bankers there were always arrogant, condescending, and nonchalant because the majority of their customers were farmers, and illiterates, except a few lecturers and students who study, live and work in nearby universities.


There is a particular one who always talks down on people who comes to the bank to transact business, he had little regard for anyone. You will think he owns the bank.


Happened on this particular day my landlord who is a very senior officer at the Central Bank of Nigeria came home from Lagos and needed urgently a large sum of money so he asked me to escort him to the bank to withdraw it was about 3:30 pm on Friday.


We met a long queue at the ATM, and he asked me why it is only one paying point at the ATM. I said that is the usual practice of this particular bank to have just one paying slot.


He walked up to the gate man and said "good afternoon sir please go inside and tell the person in charge that they should load the second paying point of the ATM so that people can quickly make their withdrawals. This queue is too long.


The gateman grumbled and said, "you want to be teaching bankers their job, like they know why they left it at one paying slot, in fact, the bank will soon be closed for the day, if you know you want to withdraw money go and join the queue."


At that time, the particular proud one came out to survey the queue, the gateman called him pointing to my Landlord said " awon daddy yi, sope ki e load ATM."(This Daddy said you should load the ATM)


His reply was "awon ko lo ma ko wa nise wa". (They are not the ones that will teach us our job) He said it with a proud look and went into the banking hall.


My landlord turned back, did a video Of the queue and join the line, but, he made a call, about five minutes after we saw a man running out of the bank, at his heels was a proud banker, they went straight to gateman and asked him "what did you say to the customer that wanted to came in, do you want me to lose my job? where is the customer, as he was asking the gateman, he was slapping him? ta, ta, ta, ta,  ta...


"You must be very stupid, where is the man? The dumbfounded gateman pointed at us standing in the queue.


The man came over to us, prostrated for my landlord, and identifies himself as the branch Head. He said " good afternoon sir, please can you enter the banking hall so that we can resolve this?


My landlord said " your security and officer said I cannot talk to bankers and teach them their jobs so I decided to talk to someone above your pay grade.


"In the next thirty minutes, if the second slot of this ATM is not working, someone will lose their job."


Quickly the manager asked that seats should be brought for us, we sat outside the bank as the other officers went to the ATM house with a bag of cash to load the second machine all within thirty minutes.


Afterward, my landlord called the security man and officer and said "when anybody gently approaches you always reciprocate you don't know who is who. He reprimanded them about the ethics of banking and the conduct of bankers.


He asked the proud banker, " what is your qualification?


"HND accounting", he answered.


" I have twenty years experience in banking and seven years at the CBN, next time be respectful. In this life, we are all In the middle, you will meet someone whom you are ahead of and meet others who are ahead of you...


"Always drop your shoulders, you were surprised that a single phone call from me can make you and everyone including your branch head run from pillar to pole."


If you have the attitude of these people are not up to me or they are illiterates, am putting it to you that the majority of them have sons and daughters who are bankers, doctors, Lawyers, engineers, etc. I am a son to one of them treat them with respect."


"Am sorry, so sorry Sir, it won't happen again" the proud banker said.


The people in the queue were very happy.


"I will love to have recommended a disciplinary action against you, but this will be the last warning." He warned him.


We made our withdrawals and left the bank, when we got into the car I asked my landlord "Sir, who did you call?" and he answered their Executive Director, Lagos, we are members of Ikoyi Club.


There and then, I noticed something that to get things done in this country you also need to have a good network and be within the right circles, till I left that village the Branch Head and other officers became my paddy, anywhere they see me it is always maximum respect and anytime I want to make a withdrawal if the security man is on duty, he will say Egbon e ma to e losinu bank (Brother please don't queue go into the bank).


After a year, I was supervising a University Examination for conversion students in Accounting at the University where I lecture, sitting in the front seat waiting to collect his answer and question booklet was the proud banker, our eyes met, he look scared and I just smiled.


At a time he was my banker now I am his lecturer.


Whatever you think you have become always try to drop your shoulders, this life is not static always changing, stay humble. we are all In the middle, you will meet someone whom you are ahead of and meet others who are ahead of you.

Chinese company suspends work on Port Harcourt-Maiduguri rail over insecurity


Mu'azu Sambo, minister of transportation, says work on the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri rail line has been suspended.


According to a statement issued on Saturday, he spoke during an inspection tour of the project in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital.


He said the suspension was due to insecurity and vandalism of railway properties along the corridor.


Sambo said the China Civil Engineering and Construction Company (CCECC), the contractor handling the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the project, had complained of attacks on its workers along the Abia state axis.


"I am very displeased by these acts and I condemn it in strong terms," the minister said.


"In the history of Nigeria, no administration has invested more in rail infrastructure like the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.


"I call on the media and the judiciary to collaborate with the ministry to ensure that these economic saboteurs are not only exposed but prosecuted and sentenced speedily to serve as a deterrent to others.


Sambo also refuted reports being circulated that funds meant for the eastern rail line were diverted to other projects, describing it as "fake news".


"The progress made so far is from 15 percent of the counterpart funding by Nigeria while the 85 percent to be provided by foreign partners is still negotiated," he added.


In 2020, the federal executive council (FEC) approved the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri rail line valued at $3 billion.


The rail line is expected have new branches — from Port Harcourt to Bonny and from Port Harcourt to Owerri.


President Muhammadu Buhari had expressed hope that the completion of the eastern narrow gauge railway project would revive "the once-vibrant eastern railway corridor, and raise the country's economy to the world stage".

1 Ojota
Ojota used to be a military settlement in the late 18th century and soldiers practised their shooting there. The area had several gun firing spots and became known as "Oju Ota" in Yoruba which means "Bullet spots". It later metamorphosed into Ojota which it is called now.


2. Abule Egba
This area is on the outskirts of Lagos and got its name from the early settlers who were Egba people from Abeokuta. The area was first called "Abule awon egba" in Yoruba, which means "Village of Egba people". It later became "Abule Egba".


3. Apongbon
Apongbon is one of Lagos' most popular markets, and it's also quite close to the popular Oke-Arin market. It got its name from the then acting governor of the Lagos colony, William McCoskry, who had a Red Beard. The Yorubas who couldn't pronounce the colonial governor's name decided to describe him by his red beard and started calling him *"Oyinbo to pon ni agbon"* (Apon l'agbon) meaning a red-bearded man. It later became Apongbon.


4. Magodo
Magodo is now a posh area, but in the past, it used to be sacred land. The residents had a lot of taboos and one of them was to avoid using mortars and pestles, "Ma gun odo" which means "Don't pound it". It later became Magodo


5. Epetedo
Epe is named after the early settlers who were Epe traders. The area became dominated by the Epes and they still trade there until today.


6. Ebute-Metta
Ebute-Metta is one of the earliest harbour docks where British ships berthed at. It was a hub for trade and commerce in colonial times. Ebute-Metta is a fusion of the words "Ebute" which means the seaside in Yoruba, and "Metta" which means three. The three shores are Iddo, Otto and Oko baba.


7. Broad street
Broad street used to be one of the longest and widest streets in the city. It got its name from its broadness. However, Broad Street was later changed to Yakubu Gowon Street but later changed back to Broad street when Gowon was accused of participating the coup that led to the death of Murtala Ramat Mohammed.


8. Agidingbi
The British Naval forces invaded Lagos in 1885 under the pretext of stopping slavery and human sacrifice. The noise their canon made was really loud, and the sound was heard round the streets of Lagos Island. The people described the sound as "A gidi n gbinnn". Which means a loud groundbreaking noise. The name Agidingbi was borne out of this.


9. Victoria Island
Victoria Island was also a major hub for commerce and British ships berthed there often. It's named after Queen Victoria of England who was Queen from 1837-1901.


10. Ikeja
Ikeja, the capital of Lagos, is actually an abbreviation for "Ikorodu and Epe Joint Administration", IKEJA. It was coined by the colonial masters for ease of administration."

OBI NDUKA GOES TO AFOR MARKET, BUYS COMMODITIES FROM SELLERS AS IZU AFIA-CHI FESTIVAL HOLDS IN ISSELE-UKU

Issele-Uku Kingdom, the headquarters of Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, was on Friday 19th August, 2022, agog as the community's Monarch, HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka emerged from the inner Chambers of Issele-Uku Royal Palace to perform his first ever official outing for the 2022 annual festival (Ine Aho). Gaily dressed in red royal apparel,  his appearance was heralded by the ancient Issoh Dance (Egwu Issoh) from the Idumu Issoh people of Umueze Issei, including the horn bearing flutists (Ndo Egbu Opi) and praise singers.


The handsome and amiable young King was ushered out of his inner Chambers by eminent chiefs of Issele-Uku Kingdom, led by the Traditional Prime Minister and American based Aeronautics Engineer, Chief Innocent Etenmua Ashiedu, just as the king majestically proceeded to the sacred ground of his forebears to render reverence to them before visiting the Afor Market to buy some Commodities and pay homage to the Omu (Queen Mother of the community and custodian of Issele-Uku market) at the Omu's shop (Odu Omu).


Izu Afia-Chi (Market of the gods), symbolises a whole lot of things and it is the first official outing of the Traditional Ruler of Issele-Uku, heralding the annual festivals which enables the local people to have a full glare of the Obi of Issele-Uku ahead of the Ine Festival and a kind of reminder that another festive season is here.


Usually, the people of Issele-Uku and visitors feel proud to see their king in public, relating normally with the people through dance and exchange of pleasantries while performing the Izu Afia-Chi. He is joyfully followed by men, women and children who eulogize and sing praises of him adoringly.


Interestingly, while the king is in the market, sellers happily beckon on him to come and buy from them. It is always a thing of joy for him to buy from any seller.  He does not price, he just picks as many commodities as he wishes and pays whatever he feels like paying; but usually he gives them more.


And as he proceeds on his way to visit the Omu in her shop (Odu), he sprays money in the air, and children, even adults struggle to catch some.


Finally, the Agbogidi Oloe-Ome arrived at the Odu Omu where he was warmly received by Omu Beatrice Onwodi who was flanked by her chiefs and traditional attendants.


Omu Onwodi was exceedingly glad to receive Agbogidi Obi Nduka in Afor Market and warmly welcomed him with prayers into her shop. The Monarch dropped money for her and eulogized her for appearing beautiful.


From the Odu Omu, Obi Nduka proceeded to the Afia-Chi Ground with a bowl of kolanuts presented to him by the Omu with which he made prayers to the Ancestors, intimating them of the time and season, while asking them for blessings of bounty of harvests and protection throughout the harvest and celebration periods of the new yam festival.


It was an awesome visit to Afor Market, the joy was unspeakable as the people gracefully danced back to the Palace with their king who never stopped spraying money in the air for them to catch.


At the Palace, the chiefs, the elders, the Okpalabisis, and other highly placed individuals were seated to receive the Monarch back from the market.


After prayers of wisdom and longevity were made for the Traditional Ruler and progress of Issele-Uku Kingdom by Okpalabisi Eweniwe Nwalia, the Monarch off-loaded all that he bought from the market as evidence that he made good purchases.


As customary of the Izu Afia-Chi Festival, the Monarch selects from the items bought, which he does not share but basically throws them on the ground to allow the people pick their choice  items. Whatever any individual struggles to pick (Mgbabuli) belongs to him.

PETER OBI AND HIS CAR-LESS SON.


For the past few days, I've seen loads of takes bashing Peter Obi for saying his son doesn't own a car and how he has refused to get him one.


Sometimes when we hear or read about things, it's best we take a pause and think it through. Peter Obi first said this in 2019 while he was the running mate to Atiku. Now he's said it again in 2022 but if you look at the context, you'll understand him.


Before I go into the context let me give a brief history on Peter Obi's son.


Firstly, PO has tried so well to keep his family out of the limelight so very little is known about his Children. PO said about two days ago that his son is going to be 29 or 30 soon.


Now, it's worthy to note that PO's son, Oseloka Obi went to Bristol University. The tuition fee is about £15k(about #9m) per year. Oseloka Obi is a Hollywood actor best known for his roles in 'His Assistance and Avenue 5'. He's also one of the founders of TBA in Bristol, Business developer in Kobini, London and also Assistant Production Manager at AFRIFF, Lagos.


Given his background it's clear that him not having a car is not a lack of success or a case of a stingy father.


Back to the context, Peter Obi said what he said to buttress the point that things shouldn't be handed down for free because they are available. He was saying because I was a governor, because I was successful doesn't mean my son won't work for his own success. He was simply saying, whether you're my son or a bricklayer's son in Diobu, we all have equal chance of success under my government if we work hard.

*WHEN* I WAS 12 years old, I began discovering him to be more temperamental and strict as never before....


*WHEN* I WAS 16, I was convinced that he was an old school, and was not up to standard - to the current times we live in....


*WHEN* I turned 18, I thought Dad was very intolerant and hard to communicate with & also difficult to get along with...


*WHEN I* turned 20, I realized that he wasn't an easy person, and began wondering how Mom was able to put up with him in all the years of marriage...

in us, thus I began wondering how he managed to tolerate our excesses


*WHEN* I was 55 years of age, I only then started realizing the wisdom & foresight my Dad had of life in getting us to where  we are today...


*When* I turned 60, ONLY then did I eventually realize that *MY DAD WAS THE BEST*

It takes a lifetime to realize the true status of our father. It takes us a lifecycle to really appreciate our father.


The difference being, as teens growing up, we selfishly view life within the confines of our own interests, whilst our fathers view life selflessly, sacrificing everything for us.


Sadly, we sometimes fail to understand that our father is always our well WISHER.


At 40 only, do we then start to realize that what we believed when we were 4 to be true...


Some are yet fortunate to have realized their father's true value whilst their father is living, whilst others have  unfortunately realized when it was too late - their father has departed from this world; It's a painful guilt to live with.
So children, please listen to, obey, and honour  your father WHO LOVES
you and sacrifices all for your good .

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND...🧙


Prof. Jubril Aminu was once the VC of University of Maiduguri. During his tenure, there was an Aluta struggle and some students were rusticated.
Four of the rusticated students came to Gani Fawehinmi to challenge the action.
He fought the case to the Supreme Court and won. The students went back to complete their studies.


Later, Gani was arrested over his anti-SAP conference and was flown to Maiduguri, then driven to Gashua. At the Lagos airport, not knowing where he was being taken to by the security men, Gani played a fast one - he told his captors that he wanted to use the toilet.


He got inside the toilet and quickly scribbled on a toilet paper - "To whoever uses this toilet, this is Gani Fawehinmi. I am being flown to an unknown destination by security men. Please, let the world know". He placed it in a conspicuous place, flushed the toilet as if he just used it and came out.


When they got to Maiduguri, they had a brief stop over at the SSS office, where a lady officer offered Gani a cup of coffee.


Gani was hooked on coffee like drug. But this time, the will power of Gani came on. He told the lady officer -"so you people have got information that l can't do without coffee. You think you can poison me? From, today, I stop taking coffee ". That was how he ended his addiction to coffee.


He was later moved to Gashua prison, in a most decrepit cell where he collapsed after some substances were sprayed in the cell.


He was rushed to the University of Maiduguri Teaching hospital. When he regained consciousness, he found a doctor examining him and he protested, asking the doctor not to touch him.


The doctor, not wanting the security men guarding him to hear, he whispered to Gani's ear - "Chief, you are in safe hands. Can't you recognise me? I am....., one of the medical students rusticated whom you fought for our reinstatement. I am now a doctor. So, relax. You are in safe hands".


And that was how Gani's life was saved - reaping from the good deeds he did earlier, which he had forgotten.

A lesson for every family "Sex is not everything in marriage'  (True life experience)


I woke up horny.


I started touching my wife


I flipped her over.


I started kissing her, but she seemed not interested.


I turned my game up. Kissed her on her neck,  She looked off.


"What's wrong?" I asked.


"Us" she said.


"What do you mean?" I asked.


"The only thing we do great together is having sex" She said.


"I thought you love our sex. I am faithful to you, I don't cheat" I told her.


"I do. You sex me good. But marriage is more than sex. It is not enough to be faithful, marriage needs to have depth, substance; not centered around sex. I don't want us to be two empty souls that are faithful to each other. We had it, we used to have depth. I want us to talk, to laugh, to pray, to date again even in our marriage, to cuddle, to make memories, to play with our children, to travel and see the world, to debate on topics like we used to, to play a sport, to go for concerts, to have intimacy in our marriage. What we currently have is not marriage, but a sexual arrangement. Sex is just not enough" she lamented.


"Ouch! That's painful" said I.


"The painful truth" said she.


I started stroking her hair gently and said, "You are right. Things changed when we got kids, life got busy I guess"


She looked at me and said, "Darling people make time for what is important. I want to be more than the mother of your children, I am your wife, I want to feel like a wife. I want quality time with you like we used to have; not alot, just enough. I want to be loved and talked to. I want our time. When was the last time you stroked my hair like you are right now?"


"A long time ago" I answered.


She placed her finger on my lips and said, "Exactly, you haven't taken time to look at me because we both are always in a hurry. You know a woman doesn't ask for much. Even something as little as you stroking my hair touches my heart. So many wives are tired of sex in their marriage: They fake orgasms, fake headaches or exhaustion and some pretend they are on their periods just to escape having sex with their husbands because they don't feel married. I want to feel married my love. I don't want to become like those women. This home is not a lodge for you to come, sleep, get sex then leave day in day out. This is our home, our bed, our marriage. I need you my husband"


"I need you too" I told her and kissed her.


The kiss was sweet, intense, not rushed and not sexual. It was intimate.


I reclined back to the bed.


I placed her head on my chest and for a while we talked as I played with her fingers. We laughed, randomly prayed, opened up and emotionally connected.


Since then, our marriage is not centered around sex; and when we do have sex, it's not sex, it's making love.

*PA JAMES SENTIMENTAL HOUSE*


I visited Pa James in his house, being a weekend I was expecting to meet a full house but stunned to meet only Pa James on the floor in the living room, with a heavy urine odor hovering around the room.


Though his eyes lite up when he saw me I could read from those eyes he was sad.


Seeing him like that I moved fast into the room throwing open the windows, switched the lights on, switched the fan to its highest marks and still put on the airconditioner. The room was in a really bad state.


After bringing the room to near normal I sat down and asked if he had eaten to which he answered in the negative.


I went to the kitchen pulled some of the things I found there together at least for him to eat.


While he was eating I sat quietly looking round the room.


It was a magnificent duplex, with two rooms on the ground floor and four on the top floor. The house has three large parlours on the ground floor and two on the top floor meant strictly for very important visitors.


Pa James was close to eighty-seven and not so agile as he had lost weight and use of some areas of his lower limps to stroke.


His children had all grown and married taking care of their own family.


Pa James was advised to build a comfortable three building bungalow seeing that his children were grown and would move away to grow their own respective families but he wouldn't hear of it as he loved big and flashy things.


The compound was more like a museum housing ancient cars and the remnants of two triumph motorcycles and three white raleigh bicycles.


Today his families are no longer staying with him and all the noise and laughter of children no longer fill the big house.


Here was he whose word was law to all and sundry, He who must be obeyed. Lost his wife some three years back and now rolling in his own urine and odor.


He looked up at me and offered a vail smile. A smile filled with sorrows of missing his agile self.


"Tony" he said, in a weak, slow faint voice, "never built a sentimental house"


While I wondered what that could mean he continued


"A house of regret" he raised a finger slowly pointing through the house "when everybody leaves, you will be lonely" he paused "look round for over a year now I don't know what the upside of this house looks like" his voice went down an octave and like he was trying to suppress a cry "I had opportunity to build a small house, all you need is a room, nothing more when they are all grown and gone"


He shook his head and said " my boy John told me by the time they will become men and married this house will be a castle and out dated, I thought he was being childish and unknowledgeable but see that future he talked about has caught up with me" this time a tear actually dropped from his eyes.


Pa James actually shed a tear drop. Never thought I would ever had seen this day. I didn't realize I was also crying. I wasn't crying because of him, tears were dropping from my eyes because I also had being looking forward to erecting a super structure like his. A house of vanity without thinking of the future that lies ahead of everyone of us.


Sitting there my mind roves on a lot of things. What was the essence of such a big house, was I not told once that every child should be given the necessary growing up implement such as a good education, a sound moral upbringing and a Godly love thy neigbhour training?


Where seats Pa James, with two PhDs and top rank in the Commerce Industry lonely and no longer able to help himself. Pa James who at the gender age of twenty-one was already into millions of Naira. Pa James who at that age was already on top of board of Companies.


"My boy" he said after a while "good education is very very important and required to meet the challenges of the world but extend your helping hands more to the less privileged than building of sentimental things around yourself. When the chips are down you will be lonely and those things will stare you in the face"


I sat there quietly short of words and just gaping at him.


"My boy let me be your lesson to life. Don't end up like me. Avoid sentimental materials, give opportunity of service to people no matter what because the money I have in the banks can no longer buy me anything and can't give me back any life opportunity I'm now just waiting on God to call" he smiled "but when the time comes what will happen to all these I had acquired over the years. My children are contended and well placed. They don't need any of these things" he stopped and slowly moved his head round "do you think I can set up an orphanage home here and will all I have to it?" He asked as if he was clinging to some unseen desires.


I didn't know what to say so I kept quiet, probably that was what prompted his next question


"My boy will you like I will these to you?"


I thought for a while and said


"I greatly appreciate you sir but I will decline as I'm not going for such sentimental things, better for the orphanage and be named after you as your legacy."


He laughed this time but not deep as the pains could be seen in his eyes


"My boy that is a good suggestion and as my lawyer you should get to action immediately because no one knows the allotted time for only God knows the time"


"Yes sir" I said


"First get me a good nurse and a chef let life come back do that before the day runs out and tomorrow bring the documents and come with a camera"


"Yes sir"


He was a bit brightened up now as if he had dropped the heavy weight off his heart.


I got up prop him on the chair put a phone call to Doctor Segun who happened to be a good friend of mine to arrange for the nurse and Mama Flora to provide a house care and took my leave.


I took a decision that day to live a simple life of a hermit.


Today I bless the wonderful name of God for giving me the courage and strength to carry out that decision.


Please check yourself and know you that yourself, avoid sentimental materials and be your brothers keeper.

*I was in class that fateful Friday afternoon teaching my students when she raised her hand to ask a question.*
*I permitted her and she asked a rather too simple question that I supposed she should know the answer.*
*I had already covered that topic the previous week. "Will you sit down there! With your Ugly face! Olodo!" was the only answer I gave her.*
*The whole class burst into laughter and she looked embarrassed.*
*I went on with my lesson but felt somewhat guilty over what I had said. I finished my class and left. On Sunday, I went to Church. The preacher was talking about the tongue and its power.*
*He spoke about how you could bring others down by what you say.*


*I remembered what happened on Friday and became guilty. I swore I was going to apologize to her on Monday when I got to the class.*


*On Monday afternoon, I went to the class but I didn't see her. I asked after her from her coursemates but they didn't seem to know who I was talking about.*


*I then said I was looking for the person I insulted on Friday.* *"Oh, that's Joy Sir!* *She is not in class today"* *they answered.*
*Who is her friend? I asked.* *"Aisha" they chorused.* *But Aisha was not in the class either.*


*Suddenly, a girl with Hijab walked in.* *"That's Aisha Sir" my students informed me.*
*Where is your friend? I asked her. "Which one?" She replied without looking at my face. Joy! I said.*


*The reply shocked me! She is in the mortuary Sir.* *Mortuary?? Doing what there?? I asked* *"She died on Friday Sir"* *Aisha replied.*


*How come??? I later found out that after my class on Friday, Joy was hit by a fast moving vehicle.*
*She was crossing the road absentmindedly probably because of what I said.*
*"Her burial is on Saturday and you are invited Sir"* *Aisha continued.*


*As I stood trying to overcome the shock, Aisha said within tears, "you killed my friend Sir".*
*She was right! I should be the murderer!*
*Some girls in the class were already crying! I didn't know what to say, whether to apologize to Joy's friend or Joy's ghost.*
*I submitted my resignation letter the next day.*

Tithe Controversy


It has now become customary that every year we will argue and drag each other online over payment of tithes.


I have never been, and will never be against anyone choosing to pay tithe. But I am Vehemently against teachings such as:


1. Paying of tithes unlock your financial growth.
2. Not paying tithe is the reason you are poor or suffering or unmarried.
3. Not paying tithe will take you to hell.


As I said, I am VEHEMENTLY against such teachings. They are lies, manipulations, superstitious, emotional blackmail and at best a subtle way of extortion and selling of God's blessings.


Every form of giving or offering in the church must model 2 Corinthians 9:7


"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."


Infact, to break it down down down. . . The New International Reader's version Bible translated that passage thus:


"You should each give what you have decided in your heart to give. You shouldn't give if you don't want to. You shouldn't give because you are forced to. God loves a cheerful giver."


All the arguments and counter arguments on tithe won't have been coming up every now and then assuming some persons are not hijacking the payment of tithes and making it look like our salvation is tied to it.


We are also having all these back and forth arguments on tithe because people have cherry picked what suits them in the Bible. For if we follow strictly the Bible on tithe, then the argument will be lost on Christians because:


1. First, to pay tithe, we must have Levites: It is only the Levites that collect tithes. And they do this in the presence of the priest (Nehemiah 10:37-39).


The Levites were given this mandate because they have no inheritance (Deuteronomy 14: 27,29).


In the strict sense of what neccesitated the giving of tithes to the Levites, no minister in any of our Churches today qualifies to be Levites.


To be a Levite, you must be from the tribe of Levi. Levites still exist till date, but they don't believe that Jesus is God unlike priests and pastors in our churches.


2. Secondly, in Deuteronomy 14:22, tithes are supposed to be paid annually. If we are really interested in following the Bible strictly, then it can't be monthly even if you claim you are paid monthly.


3. The Israelites don't just drop their tithes and leave. No! In Deuteronomy 14: 23-26 you are mandated to eat your tithe with the poor, the orphans, etc. It is usually the tithe of your tithe (10% of your tithe) that the Levites collect and take to the store house of God. (Nehemiah 10:38-39).


For example, assuming your tithe is N100, N10 will be taken to the store house, the remaining N90 is what you will eat with the poor.


4. Tithe was NEVER monetized. You are mandated to eat your tithe (produce) with the poor. In the case where you live far and may not be able to carry your produce to the place designated by God, you are to sell the produce, convert them into money and travel light, so that upon reaching the place Yahweh had designated, you will use the money and buy things which you will use to eat and drink with the poor and your household. No where was payment of tithe monetized, despite the fact that they had money then. Please try and read Deuteronomy 14:22-26 and see for yourself.


5. And finally,  Malachi 3:8-10 was not in anyway referring to today's Christians. I will show you why.


If you take your time to read Nehemiah Chapters 9 and 10, you will see that the people of Israel assembled and on their own VOLITION and WILLINGNESS and without COERCION made promises to God.


They called it a "firm agreement" about what they will be offering God every year. They made these promises in writing.


I will quote some of the agreements they made in Nehemiah 10. Remember, they made this agreement FREELY.


In Verse 32 they said: "We also lay on ourselves the obligation to charge ourselves yearly ONE THIRD OF A SHEKEL for the service of the house of our God."


Verse 35: "We obligate ourselves to bring the FIRST FRUITS of our soil and the first fruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year."


Verse 36,37,38: "Also we OBLIGATE OURSELVES to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God, the FIRSTBORN OF OUR SONS and of our LIVESTOCK. . .And to bring to the LEVITES the TITHE from our soil. . .And the priest, the descendant of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the LEVITES shall RECEIVE the TITHES."


So, when the Israelites were NOT keeping all they wrote and swore to do, especially with paying tithes, and when the Levites were not bringing the tithe of the tithes to the store house of God, it necessitated those words from Malachi that they were robbing God. Other versions used "defrauding," "afflicting" etc. of course when you make a promise and adamantly violate it, what is it called?


This is why when Christians of today begin to quote Malachi 3:10 and apply it to themselves as though they are still under the law, it just shows their ignorance of the scripture and in that process, they make a mess of the death and resurrection of Christ that ushered in a new Convenant where tithe is not emphasized, offering first born son or animals and laws on the Sabbath are not emphasized.


With all the reasons above, if anyone decides on his or her own volition to give money they called tithe in the spirit of 2 Cor 9:7, I have no problem with that. But the moment a minister/ministers start making it a MUST, threatening death and curse and attributing one's successes and failures in life to tithing, then I will be here to remind them that tithe is not even required in the first place and that christians who chose not to pay tithe have not done anything wrong.

Good morning someone called me with dis number
07060714545 telling me he was doing some
registration online and he mistakenly put my
number on what he was registering, that my
number is similar to his number and that the
password of what he was registering was sent
to my phone which I actually saw as 6310.
He was now appealing to me to give him the
reset code that was sent to my phone so that
he could finish his registration. I told him to
call me with the number he claimed was
similar to mine so that I could verify his
claim, he told me he didn't have credit in that
line.
I got online to find out more, only to discover
he was actually trying to reset my bank
online/yahoomail password and that he is a
fraudster, an account hacker and also a 419er.
If I had given him the code which was sent to
my phone, he would have used it to reset my
bank online/mobile app account.
Please let us be careful and vigilant.
Fraudsters are devising new ways every day.
This is a new way of defrauding people...

I'm currently watching the richest black woman on earth, Folorunsho Alakija's exclusive interview with Arise Tv on Youtube and I've been reminded again of the role of human relationships that influence how far we go in life as young people.


Before I993, Alakija was an ordinary tailor in Lagos who had big dreams about changing her life and that of her family.


Alakija had a client that she  sews cloth for whose name was Maryam Babaginda who is late now.


Maryam Babaginda was the wife of former Nigerian president Ibrahim Babangida and Nigeria's former First Lady.


It happened at that time, the Nigerian government were sharing oil blocks to private investors who are Nigerians in order to encourage and empower indigenous participation in our oil and gas sector.


Anambra born Arthur Eze was  dashed one oil block by the IBB government. Glo chairman Mike Adenugua and late MKO Abiola were beneficiaries  of that discretionary oil block allocation at that time.


Alakija who did not have a personal relationship with IBB at that time leveraged her business relationship with her wife to secure a meeting with then Minister of Petroleum thrice to submit her proposal for a prospecting licence.


In her words, late Maryam Babaginda did not do any other thing for her than to secure the meetings with the minister of Petroleum at that time, she did it thrice she said, which was a big deal though because, without that influence, she would not have had access to the minister of petroleum to submit her proposal.


As God may have it, the Nigerian government awarded Alakija's company an oil prospecting license in 1993, which was later converted to an oil mining lease.


The company which is known as Famfa oil today is a Nigerian oil exploration company with a stake in Agbami Oilfield, a prolific offshore asset and they have partners that include Chevron and Petrobras.


The Alakija's are so rich today that they donated 1 billion naira to Cacovid as their Covid donation to Nigerians , they also live at a $700 million residence at Ikoyi Lagos but beyond this, Famfa oil owned by her family are one of the few indigenous brands in Nigeria building office space at Kingsway Road Ikoyi,  the preferred office location for Nigeria's dollar billionaires.


Alfred Rewane (Kingsway) Road, Ikoyi has become the choice of three of Nigeria's dollar billionaires, Modupe Alakija, Aliko Dangote & Abdulsamad Rabiu with a combined net worth of over $18.6 billion to build their corporate head office.


Famfa Oil Tower is a 22-floor office development and will serve as the Headquarters of Famfa Oil Limited, owned by one of Africa's richest women, Chief (Mrs) Folorunsho Alakija. Famfa Oil will occupy three (3) floors for her business activities and lease other floors to the public. Other amenities and features of Famfa towers include:


A Gymnasium,
Multipurpose Hall,
Helipad (with a dedicated waiting lounge),
266 parking bays,
Raised access floors and
Select granite finishes.
Dangote and BUA cement are also developing their own office space at the same highbrow street In Ikoyi  at the moment.


Imagine for a moment that Alakija did not know Maryam Babaginda and had her a client, she would today be an obscure woman somewhere in Lagos, trying to make ends meet and survive.


Your network is really your networth and this is true for any young person without rich parents/uncles to open doors for him/her in Nigeria.


You would earn more as a young person if you have people in your circle who can make that happen.


Many years ago, I needed 1 million naira urgently, I did not have it at that time and I knew I could not ask my parents but I have this big man in my circle who is a friend and mentor so I packaged this wonderful idea for his business, sold it to him and he bought my idea.


The Big MAN  ended up paying more than the 1 million naira I needed to solve my problem and I still remember that experience because it taught me a lot about having the right people in your circle; What if I did not have the big man in my circle? God knows I would have been stuck and stranded.


This is one of the reasons why I'm very very big on relationships, not social media crowd or applause  rather the right people who make things happen in your circle, the right people that push you or who open doors for you. Friends that show you it is possible for you to do more with your life and actually earn more as a young person.


The lesson from Funso Alakija's life who recently clocked 70 is simple; Cultivate healthy relationships, cultivate friendship with people who are richer than you are, friends who can push you to do better and be better.


Who knows, one person in your circle might push you or open doors for you to be the next richest black woman/man  tomorrow.

I have walked into different libraries and I've seen University Science Books translated into Chinese, Russian, Portuguese, French, German, Spanish and so forth. I've seen,  Think And Grow Rich by Napolean Hill translated into French. I've seen the Japanese version of A Man's Search For Meaning. I've seen a Spanish version of The Alchemist. I've seen the Korean version of The Art of War. All of these books, I've seen them in various languages but NOT in any African language.


You will never find a church in Africa where the English speaking preacher would not have a native translator next to them doing the translation.


Here's where the scam comes in: you also will never find a school in Africa where the English speaking teacher WILL be having a native translator next to them translating Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Economics etc to the students.


I've seen many Science Books translated into various languages but NONE in any African language. The Chinese are taught Mathematics in Chinese. The Japanese are taught Engineering in Japanese. They're all taught Finance, Astrophysics, Medicine, Accounting, Geology, Management, Government and so on in their languages. The ONLY book that Africans have in their language IS THE BIBLE. And the ONLY time Africans have something translated to them in their language IS IN A CHURCH.

John Hawkins was a foremost English slave trader, a thief, and by contemporary moral standards he can as well be called a terrorist. John Hawkins made three trips to West Africa in the 1560s, and stole Africans whom he sold to the Spanish in America. On returning to England after the first trip, his profit was so handsome that Queen Elizabeth I became interested in directly participating in his next venture; and she provided for that purpose a ship named JESUS. Hawkins left with JESUS to steal some more Africans, and he returned to England with such dividends that Queen Elizabeth made him a knight. Hawkins chose as his coat of arms the representation of an African in chains.


Today the generations of Hawkins and Queen Elizabeth I are alive and enjoying life from the proceeds of their Evil ancestors. They don't demonise their ancestors despite their active involvement in the greatest evil humanity has ever witnessed. Both individuals sanctioned rape, kidnapping and mass murder, but their children don't bear "ancestral curses" like black Africans. You'd be hard pressed to see a member of the British elite publicly denounce slavery.


Isn't it time to emancipate yourself from mental slavery oh ye Negro? If ancestral curse exists, who should suffer from it? The ancestor who kidnapped and raped and murdered and pillaged and stole and enslaved his fellow man, or the man whose freedom was taken from him? Do these Black Africans who will go to church today binding and casting "ancestral curses", know that almost all the top British politicians from the 17th century till the 19th century were proud slave merchants? It is on record that 15 Lord Mayors of London, 25 sheriffs and 38 aldermen of the City of London were shareholders in the Royal Africa Company (RAC) between 1660-1690. The RAC alone was responsible for trafficking over 1.5million Negroes to Britain and twice that number to the Caribbean.


David and Alexander Barclays were active participants in the kidnapping and enslavement of millions of black Africans. As was standard practice at the time, the risky and long-term nature of transatlantic slave trading required new banking houses that could offer credits to prospective slave traders, for periods of between one and a half to three years. One bank that provided this service was run by Alexander and David Barclay. Their bank still carries their name. The Barclay's Bank is also a proud sponsor of the English Premier league that me and you are fanatical fans of Chelsea and Arsenal and Man United today.


Their children don't bind and cast their ancestral evil, rather it is the Negro whose ancestors were dehumanised and tortured and enslaved, that keeps praying against "ancestral curses."


The Bank of England was also involved in the slave trade. Sir Richard Neaves, who was the director of the bank for 48 years, was also the chairman of the Society of West India Merchants. A group of vile men who stole Africans and made handsome profits by selling them on to farmers who needed them to work in their sugar and tobacco plantations in the West Indies.


Today Liverpool Football club will be playing Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclay's premier League. Pay attention. How many of you who are Liverpool supporters today know that the initial founders of that football club were retired slave traders, whom in 1892, with slavery outlawed, decided to invest their money in a football club that will reap future rewards for their generations to come via a bank called Arthur Heywood and Sons & Co.. That bank would be absorbed in turn by the Bank of Liverpool, Martin's Bank and Barclay's Bank.


You watch them and shout in ecstasy when they score. But a pastor somewhere will tell you the reason you're poor is because your ancestors committed evil, hence the reason you experience ill luck. And you will believe and start casting and binding rubbish!


For your information, Liverpool was a major port for the transatlantic slave trade. Slave ships were often built or repaired in Liverpool. Nearly one and a half million Africans were forcibly transported across the Atlantic in Liverpool ships. The 'Liverpool Merchant' was the first recorded slave ship to sail from Liverpool. She set sail on 3 October 1699 and arrived in Barbados on 18 September 1700 with a cargo of 220 enslaved Africans. Part owner Sir Thomas Johnson is known as the 'founder of modern Liverpool'.


Liverpool city wouldn't be what it is today without the trade in black Africans. The personal and civic wealth gained from slaving cemented the foundations for the Liverpool's future growth.


The children and grandchildren and great grand children of the perpetrators of this monstrosity against the black Man enjoy heaven here on earth, and live in more stable environment. They have managed to stabilise their society and solve their problem and live in relative peace.

HUSBAND SCARCITY!!!


This may not be the best time for me to write on this because of misinterpretations, but I can no longer resist the push. "Husband Scarcity" has become one of the challenges faced by many young girls today. If you go to prayer houses, majority of the intentions are prayer for a life partner. And this calls for concern.


Casting our minds back to the time of our mothers and grandmothers, was there really much of a "Husband Scarcity" problem? Or, maybe there were more men than women then, or there was an adequate corresponding numbers of both genders. I don't think so.


Maybe then, the women had values and were prepared to build a home. Then, once a young man comes of age and can at least feed himself and his wife, he goes out in search of a wife and the woman really appreciates him and helps him to build a future. What am I really trying to say? We created by what we now see as "Husband Scarcity" for ourselves. Today, the reverse is the case. Ask an average girl to define her dream husband; you get things like "he has to be tall, handsome, fair, and rich, own a house at least, and be presentable" and then she adds "God fearing" in order not to sound so worldly.


Then, check the number of girls around you and the number of men that meet that standard, and you will see the problem. You hear girls say, "I cannot suffer in my father's house and then go and start suffering with a man." What a wonderful dream! What if from the beginning, you have everything you want and there is no suffering, and later in the marriage, the table turns around, then comes suffering?


Will you run away? No one prays for suffering, but it is good to start small and end big, than start big and end small. The problem is that the description majority of girls give of their ideal man is virtually the same. When 50 girls want the same kind of man and the man that fits what they want is just 1 man, and the man can only pick one. Then, what becomes of 49?

The 100 Achievers team has congratulated Chief Chika Okpala MFR (Zebrudaya) of New Masquerade fame on his 71st birthday which was celebrated last week and wished him well.


In a statement released to the press by Barr. Lizzy Anyaonu, the group commended Chief Chika Okpala for being one of the most talented Nigerians who has contributed immensely to the development of arts in Nigeria. The group praised Chief Chika Okpala for marketing Nigeria through one  of the best TV series Nigeria has known.


Speaking further, the group recalled how the New Masquerade brought so many homes together and was almost the best entertainment that provided maximum  fun and relaxation to homes in the 80's and 90's.


They also stated that it contributed to educational development because it was an inspiration to the younger generation, unlocking their creative ingenuity and helping to stem the tide of societal vices through the instrumentality of motion pictures.  The group stated that the glory days  of the New Masquerade was what eventually gave rise to what is now known as Nollywood, a billion dollar industry.  They thanked Chief Okpala for motivating other younger people who were inspired by what he was doing with malapropism and would later build an entire industry fuelled by  comedy, creating jobs massively and adding value to the Nigerian economy.


The group wondered why Zebrudaya's malapropism has not been inculcated into Nigeria's vocabulary as a way of  creating  Nigeria's home grown lingua franca, adding that the federal government should as a matter of urgency co-opt Zebrudaya as part of the team to develop an acceptable home grown lingua franca for all Nigerians.


They prayed for God's guidance, wisdom and strength for more of his contributions to the development of our country.

Why I will Sit at Home on May 31


Many wonder why all South East will stay at home on the 31 of May.


We are NOT compiled to stay at home because Nnamdi Kanu said so. He should not in the first place "order" us if we think right . Because we are very afraid and scared to remember those who died for us, he needed to remind the ignorant amongst us.
Does anyone force or order you to remember the day Christ died? Does anyone order you to remember June 12? Does anyone order you to remember Jan 15 , (the day Nigeria armed forces remember the Genocide against us)?
You see!! Because we have for long acted like men who lack testicular erectile fortitude so it takes a young man born after the war to remind us of our responsibilities.
I and my entire family will never move out on any 30th to 31th of  May.
We lost 7 uncles in that war of Genocide. I stay at home for their memories.
I stay at home to remind me that the war is not over.
I stay at home to remind me that we got where we are today with only N20 after they stole all we had.
I stay at home in memory of the over 1 million Children who died from kwashioko.
I shall stay at home because I am Igbo, marginalised by the brutal wicked forces from futajelon.
I stay at home because I am human and I have  never forgotten as the bombs were dropped on our schools and places of worship.
I shall stay at home in memory of all the properties of my people stolen as abandoned properties.
I shall stay at home to mourn all that have been murdered, raped and killed through the connivance and silence of Nigeria leaders.
I must stay at home in memory of my younger brother Christopher Timber Okoli who died from shell shock by Nigerian soldiers.
I will stay at home in memory of my uncle Onochie buried alive at Asaba.
I shall stay at home because it is my right to mourn my dead heroes.
It is also the right of every right thinking people of South East to do so.
So leave us in peace to mourn our dead in our ancestral land.

Here is a simple remedy available to everyone to never suffer from prostate diseases. Those who already suffer from it can also try it. It works very well.


Know first that in all men, from 25 years the prostate accumulates toxins due to urine and semen which pass through the urethra. The prostate also participates in the composition of sperm by adding a secretion that is not entirely eliminated from this gland. When the residual secretions stay there, it participates in its progressive intoxication. You find it in families, POLITICAL ARENA, PLACES OF WORSHIP, ORGANIZATIONS, WORK PLACES, etc.

CHARACTER ASSASSINATION is the deliberate, malicious, unjustified and sustained effort to damage the reputation or credibility of an individual.

CHARACTER ASSASSINATION is the slandering of a person usually with the intention of destroying public confidence in that person.

CHARACTER ASSASSINATION is the act of lowering one's character in a bid to ruin the character of others.

There are people that take maximum delight in ruining other's reputation. This set of people have what I will like to call 'Destructive Tendencies'. They oil their own ego by pulling other people down. PhD(pull him down).

False allegations are the most chronic form of mental abuse. When people can't kill your dreams and purpose, they will try to assassinate your character. There are some people that your spirit will always irritate their demons! Once they realize hating isn't working they start telling and spreading lies about you. People are assassinated once but 'Character Assassination' kills daily! Character assassination is a form of emotional violence against others.

Someone once said, "A friend of my enemy is my enemy." One of the things that hinders us from living a fulfilling and inclusive life is bringing past bias and sentiments into present relationships. A friend of your enemy is not necessarily your enemy; it all depends on intentions and contributions. God can use your enemy's friend to bless you!`

7 critical 'DON'Ts' that you really need to guard yourself against.

"REFUSING to getting TRAPPED in them will help you live a more PRODUCTIVE, FULFILLING and UNBIASED life. They are:

1. Don't conclude about people because of what others say about them: Never draw up conclusions based on what others tell you about someone. It is a lack of social intelligence that makes people draw conclusions on others based on what other people say about them. I know you've heard about emotional and financial intelligence, but there is something called social intelligence. This is the kind of intelligence that keeps you sane even when others are trying to pollute your mind against someone else until you have thoroughly confirmed the veracity of the claims before you. Judges are trained to have this kind of intelligence in order to avoid biased judgments.

2. Don't inherit other people's enemy: It is total lack of education and enlightenment when you automatically make your friend's enemies your own. Don't make people your enemies just because they are not in good terms with your friends.

3. Don't use your children as weapons of war:
God can use your enemies to bless your children Stop using them to fight those you don't like. Your children will need to discern their enemies for themselves; never use your parental influence to make your children hate others. You may often need to guard them with their choice of friends but never plant the seed of discord in the heart of your children against someone else.

4. Don't gang up with others to hate someone: Don't join the majority to hate someone – you may realize that the person has no offence. Someone said, "If you don't see it with your own eyes, or hear it with your own ears. Don't invent it with your small mind and share it with your big
mouth". Never join the multitude to hate someone else.

5. Don't be used as weapon in other people's battle: It is not every battle that you must involve yourself in. Refuse to be used as weapons in other people's battle. When people fight dirty, refuse to take sides. Observe deeply before concluding finally.

6. Don't hate people just because they don't behave like you: That someone is not your tribe doesn't make them your enemy. It is a waste of education if the only people you like are those that are like you. The greatest proof of our education is in how we respond to people whose opinions are different from ours. People who think their opinions are superior to others are most prone to overestimating their relevant knowledge and ignoring chances to learn more.
The people who don't think like you are your greatest source of enlightenment. It is normally people that are not like us that help us grow the most. Companies that had maximized growth are really those that value diversity and inclusion.

7. Don't judge people until you know the whole story: Someone once said, "Beware of the half-truth. You may have gotten hold of the wrong half". Don't judge other people's choices without understanding their reasons.
If people say something bad about you or judge you as if they know you, don't easily get affected. Remember this, dogs bark if they don't know the person. People who are intimidated by you talk about you with hopes that others won't find you so appealing.

Stay away from people who talk bad about others daily; this kind of people carry a negative spirit, and a negative spirit is contagious. The real problem is not that they are unhappy about others, but they are unhappy with themselves.

Stop the destructive habit of talking about people behind their back. Talking badly about someone else while they aren't there to defend themselves says more about you than the person you're talking about. When you have issues with people, try and discuss it with them. Stop discussing it with others. Someone once said, "Don't talk about me until you have talked to me". Stop spreading false information and rumours about others.

Rumours are carried by haters! Stop creating walls of contention, rather help build bridges of understanding among people.

Avoid ENVY and JEALOUSY. Everyone has a different destiny.

Friends , take it or leave it, at 60 and above , loneliness kills because the  children you are working hard for now will go their ways to raise their own immediate families and pursue their own destinies , just as we did now . At that time it's these people in these 3 - categories that take away loneliness and keep your company .


Pls, out of your busy schedule , set time out to say HI ! to your real - old - age - cure - against - loneliness . In the 3- categories , the only one that knows you better and can relate with you down to heart are your childhood friends .
So why are you feeling too big or inferior to come along ? It's not possible we'll all be at the same level . Some will be very rich , moderate and some poor - that is the beauty and misery of life. Some will be so educated , while some will still be Secondary school certificate holders .


If you are up , bring others that are willing up , and if you are down , never bring those that are up down with your mouth or attitude .
At close to 50 years and above , you have 10 to 15 years of active working life.


Stop saying I am this, I am that . Flow into other people's lives and let then flow into yours .

A CRY FOR HELP FROM RMS TITANIC


The world was shocked when RMS Titanic sank 107 years ago.


But the tragic saga has been told and retold over the decades since her sinking; her story stirs the imagination to this day.


The "unsinkable" ship sank four days into her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City, with an estimated 2,224 people on board, losing at least 1,517 lives, which makes it one of the deadliest maritime disasters in history.


RMS Titanic hit an iceberg at 23:40 on the night of April 14, 1912.


Just over 150 minutes later, the ship broke in two halves at around 02:20 on April 15 and sunk.


When the Titanic was hit hard & started sinking it began sending out distress signals.


Three ships were nearby before it sank.


The first ship was known as SS Admiral Sampson.


SS Admiral Sampson was the closest to RMS Titanic. It was just 7 miles away from RMS Titanic.


They saw the white flares from RMS Titanic signaling danger and a call for help, but because the crew had been hunting seals illegally and didn't want to be caught, they turned and went the opposite direction away from Titanic.


The second ship was SS Californian.


SS Californian was just 14 miles away from RMS Titanic, but they were surrounded by ice fields and the captain looked out and saw the white flares, but because the conditions weren't favourable and it was dark, the captain and his crew decided to go back to bed and wait until morning. The crew tried to convince themselves that nothing was happening.


Early in the morning, at around 05:30, the wireless operator was awakened. He tried to communicate with the ship, but got the sad news instead – RMS Titanic has sunk.


The third ship was RMS Carpathia.


RMS Carpathia was 58 miles away from RMS Titanic and was headed in a southern direction when they heard the distress cries from RMS Titanic over the radio. The captain of this ship knelt down, prayed to God for direction, and then turned the ship around and went full steam ahead through fields of icebergs.


It would take her approximately three and a half hours to arrive at the position of RMS Titanic's final distress call.


Captain Arthur Rostron speeds up his nine-year-old ship. The ship managed 17 knots, which far surpassed her quoted top speed making their way to the last known coordinates of RMS Titanic.


Meanwhile, Rostron's crew kept busy making preparations to receive the surviving passengers of RMS Titanic, to ensure the rescue operation could be both as successful and as swift as possible.


RMS Carpathia arrived in the area at approximately 3:30 AM, that's about an hour after the Titanic sank.


This was the ship that saved the 705 survivors of the Titanic. This is one of the most heroic and perilous rescue efforts.


The remaining 1517 lives got lost in "watery grave". It is said that if the other two ships had responded all the people on-board the "Titanic" could have been saved.


When the captain looked back at the ice fields they had come through, he said; "someone else hands must have been at the helm of this ship."


Let us remember Titanic sent the distress signal to multiple ships shortly after midnight on April 15, 1912. Only the farthest ship; "RMS Carpathia" arrived on the scene and saved the 705 survivors of the Titanic.

The story of the sinking of the RMS Titanic is similar to the story of "The Good Samaritan" and relates to the behaviour of humans.


What can we learn from it?


The first ship represents us and people like us who are so busy looking inward at our sin and lives that we can't recognize when someone else is in need.


The second ship represents those of us who say I can't do anything now. The conditions aren't right for it and so we wait until conditions are perfect before going out.


The last ship! That's what we should all aim to be. To be there for each other and thrust everything into God's Hands.


Are you your brother's keeper?


Every day hundreds of youths are going into crime because their neighbour pretended not to see their distress signal and cry for help and looked the other way. And just like RMS Titanic, many glorious dreams are being buried in untimely and 'watery graves'.


The most worrisome of them are street and campus cultism which is the breeding ground for many other violent crimes such as thuggery, armed robbery, drug addiction/ trafficking, electoral violence, etc.


It is not enough to shout #EndSARS, #EndBadGovernment.


If you are not doing something to help the people in your neighbourhood, you are not different from SS Sampson and SS Californian.


I am calling on you today to be your brother's keeper.


A cup of rice or a piece of advice could save a soul from perishing.


A better society (Nigeria) starts in our neighbourhood.


Life whispers to your soul and speaks to your heart. We need to take the time to listen to these whispers and take heed.


Socrates said, ''Know Thyself.''


So ask yourself this moment, ''Who am I?'' Then, whatever good in your heart you want to do, do it!

"There's a particular story in the Bible that I can't get out of my head. I pondered on it first in 2018 and each time I think about it, the message appears more profound than it appeared previously.

Just follow my analogy: one of Jesus's most vulnerable moments in the Bible was at the garden of Gethsemane. It was the one time the Bible recorded his humanness and how overwhelmed Jesus felt knowing that he would soon be arrested, tried and crucified. He needed to be with people he loved and could trust.

Of all his disciples, he picked his three favourite (Peter, James and John) to pray with him. He had told them that his soul was grieved to the point of death. I can imagine how scared and lonely he must have felt. But not long after he has started praying, he looked back and saw his three favourites asleep.

Imagine telling your best friends about how overwhelmed and scared you are, and seeing them fall asleep as you all prayed. He woke them up and begged them to keep praying.Interestingly, when he came back the second time, he saw that they had all fallen asleep again. He was disappointed.

"So you men could not keep watch with Me for one hour?" he asked.

Obviously, he knew what was to happen but he needed them to be with him as he agonized. Disappointed but he went back the third time to pray. This time, the Bible said, he fell down to his face AND PRAYED WITH ALL HIS MIGHT. He was tired, scared, angry, disappointed but when he went the third time, he prayed with every fibre of his being.

The message is deep. We understand that all these happened so that the scripture could be fulfilled but at the time it happened, the disciples didn't know they were fulfilling scriptures. They were just people and despite their love for Jesus, they slept on him at his most vulnerable moment.

This story always gets me thinking about how many times I must have slept on people who needed me. I may or may not have known how much they needed me to just be there, but even if I did, could have been able to show up?

More importantly, the story makes me rethink my opinion about people when they are unable to be there for me in times that I needed them to. Some of life's issues are very personal. The people who love us the most are either unhelpful or they simply can't understand our pain.

Jesus knew that his disciples loved him. This battle just wasn't what they could understand; they could afford to sleep. He couldn't make them understand, so he prayed alone, and with all his might. He didn't dwell on the disappointment. Even for Jesus, life became personal.

We need discernment because life is not always black or white. The greatest evil can result from the best intentions. The closest people will not be able to help our problems sometimes and in those times, I hope, like Jesus, that we can give all our might alone every time."

Outrage all over the world as a zoo visitor photographs starving lion alongside other 'underfed' animals in Nigeria



A starving lion was discovered by a shocked visitor to a zoo in Nigeria along-side a number of other severely underfed animals.   

After the man's discovery, a wildlife charity has begun a rescue mission from the horror zoo in an attempt to save the life of the severely malnourished male lion.

His strength must first be returned before he can be relocated to a sanctuary, but there are questions over whether the lion can survive for long enough.

The man was visiting to the Gamji Gate zoo in Kaduna, Nigeria, and was shocked to discover the conditions the animals were being kept in.

After paying a one dollar entrance fee to the state-owned zoo, he came across a painfully thin lion - which looked as if it was on the verge of death - locked up in a cement cage.

'The first moment I saw the animal I felt shock,' the man, who wishes to remain unnamed, told Jam Press. 'I was so surprised. I felt so nervous and uneasy because it was my first time seeing a lion live.

'Like this is my first time in a zoo. I virtually saw them in movies, news and magazines. Actually, most of the animals in the zoo are not well-fed. They lack proper treatment or let me say malnutrition.'

Disturbed by the scene, the man recorded his findings and quickly contacted the animal welfare charity WildatLife.e.V to assist in the rescue of the lion.

His footage and photos show the lion looking incredibly thin with its ribs visibly protruding from its stomach.

This is in stark contrast to a typical full-grown male lion, which weighs in at around 420 pounds, while female lions generally weigh about 280 pounds.

The lion, named Zaki by the charity, is in critical condition and had been left to suffer beyond comprehension.

However, WildatLife.e.V is working alongside the Nigerian Association of Zoological parks which has assisted them in finding a wildlife vet and informing the authorities, who are investigating the matter urgently.

A spokesperson said: 'The vet was sent and gave medical assistance to the lion but he will require further treatment which NGO WildatLife will pay for.

'We are awaiting the full vet diagnosis and report into how and why this has been allowed to happen.

Zaki is now receiving medical care and it will be an ongoing case.

'If Zaki survives this ordeal, our NGO has offered to relocate him to a sanctuary that will see him thrive.

'But in his now critical condition, it is not viable to relocate him, we must work closely with the Nigerian officials to have this matter dealt with internally.

We must prevent suffering in zoos around the wild that holds wildlife captive for profit.'

Sadly, a number of other animals in the zoo looked to be in poor health and malnourished too. The NGO said conditions and enclosures were completely unsuitable.

However, the lion is the most urgent and shocking case the NGO has ever seen.

It was not clear whether to zoo would remain open after the discovery.

7. That cheating husband: Although cheating is not an excuse. But you may be killing him slowly with the way you are handling it. He just may be crying for help. He may be looking for compassion and peace elsewhere .Do be careful with him/her, Don't beat down a man/woman  already on his/her knees. Don't be another battle he has to fight. REACH

8. Post natal depression is real. Yes it is. You think a mother endured 9 months, labor pains and it all just to stab her offspring. Your wife is not suddenly nagging. She is depressed. Don't be a jerk. REACH OUT...

9. Suicide is not a selfish act. Reminding a depressed soul that suicide will only transfer their pain to others is selfish, insensitive and for lack of a better word, EXTREMELY Selfish. When one resolves to suicide, trust me, they are no longer thinking about the pain they would cause because they have lost the ability to be rational in their thinking. They  just want peace. They are tired of your judgmental stares, hints and speeches. They are tired of you ignoring them...

They are tired of being a bother to you. Because by now they believe their is no pain in death...

Depression seeks that peace. REACH OUT...

10. And no, offering  to buy  them alcohol  so they can drown their sorrow is not reaching out. It's compounding the problem...

And paying bills after one has already committed suicide is HYPOCRITICAL. Those goodwill messages after one is gone are pure Hypocrisy...

A messenger of God don't speak to please you or make you happy, he speaks what he sees. You need to learn how to understand and analyze prophecy. Now let's analyze the prophecy "BUHARI IS PRAYER ANSWERED "

When Mbaka prophesied that "BUHARI IS PRAYER ANSWERED " it does not necessarily mean everything will become perfect. Let me give you a biblical reference, when God send Moses to go tell Pharaoh "LET MY PEOPLE GO" , remember God also told Moses that Pharaoh will not let them go that he has hardened his heart. So for Israel to be free, God does not even need a friendly Pharaoh. So you need to understand the modus operandi of God.

So begin to see Mbaka's prophecy with another light. Because of the hardness of Buhari and the leaders in this country, our deliverance has come. The hardship and difficulty has awakened us. Now we've learned how to hold our government responsible and accountable. Weather or not you know it, what is happening now is Devine and Nigeria will never remain the same again.

There's nowhere in the world where the white man accepts domination from another white man in perpetuity.


It used to be so under the Roman empire and the like. Not anymore. The Communists tried it, dividing society into capitalists and proletariats, deluding themselves that ethnicity is effectively swept under the carpet, but what followed? The Communist edifices in Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia,  and the big brother, USSR, all collapsed, while the two Germans that are ethnically the same but split by communism vs capitalism were reunited. Such is the power of ethnic nationalism.


Czechoslovakia was made up of two ethnic groups,  the Czech and the Slovakians. Both separated peacefully on 1st January 1993. The former is today 10.6 million people and the latter 5.4 million. Added together,  they're not up to Lagos. Yet, they split for peace. Two masters can't be in the same house.


Yugoslavia in 1991 was 23.2 million, barely more than Lagos population. It broke into six countries same year - all along ethnic lines, namely: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia.


Then the big brother, USSR. It had, at least, the following ethnic groups identified by their languages:

Today, your fingers will not be enough to count the number of countries that have emerged from the USSR.


Sit down there and be preaching unity in Nigeria as if you're the kindest gentleman on earth while you have no solution to the genocide in Southern Kaduna, the illegal but officially condoned arms in the hands of killer herdsmen roaming the country, and be condemning those better informed about the fact that the country is undergoing the strains of a forced union and should be peacefully restructured or let people go their separate ways.


In Europe, the two best examples of fairly stable multi-ethnic states are the UK and Switzerland.  The former is led by reasonable men who permitted regional autonomy to the Irish, the Scots and the Welsh, while the English dominate Westminster. That's something some of us are asking for, but you're fighting against it in your own country wracked by ethnic crisis. Your own people are better off under oppression of fellow black men because your people have bad leaders who can't do better than their new internal colonisers.


The latter country, Switzerland, has four ethnic groups. Each of them rotates the presidency annually through seven cantons that constitute the federation units. All the four languages of the four ethnic groups are recognized as official languages and school languages to boot, namely, German, French, Italian, and Romansch that has just a few thousand speakers!


There's nowhere in the world where the Caucasians allow the domination of their group by another.


In Canada, Quebec is the only full French-speaking province, aside a little section of New Brunswick.  The other seven provinces are English-speaking.  Yet, Canada is bilingual for the sake of Quebec! And each of the provinces is largely self-governing.


Here we are in Nigeria,  you have people arguing vehemently that a decrepit,  structurally-flawed, and crisis-prone artificial contraption badly configured by the British only needs good people to survive. Why not centralise the powers of the British regions to London and see what happens?


My Conclusion:
When many commentators read and repost  or share your articles  with many of their friends and contacts, they do so because they want others to learn.


I share this article with that mindset and so should you.

WHY NIGERIAN SARS ARE KILLING PROPLE


1. Majority of Nigerians irrespective of tribe or level of education have the SARS attitude.


It is often said that if you want to know who a person really is, give him power.
That cannot be truer than in Nigeria.
Nigerians are simply really reckless with power, no matter how little.
You better pray not to have a Nigerian have some advantage over you in any way, or require his/her assistance,
Your life could become hell for no reason at all.


2. Recently, I walked into a Nigerian post office to claim a parcel,
The 'big' woman behind the counter took a long look at me and bellowed from her nose 'what do you want?',
The nasty way she spoke almost had me fleeing through the nearest exit.
Yet, it wasn't that I had met her before or offended her prior.


My only offence was that I was a Nigerian like her seeking her services.
She was just being the typical Nigerian with advantage or power.
She was just being like the rest of us.


3. Have you walked into our hospitals?
Did you observe the manner senior doctors address their junior doctors and their patients?
Or the way older nurses treat younger nurses? The way nurses attend to relatives of sick people?
Or the way and manner our pastors speak to and relate with their congregations?
Or the way Nigerian families treat their maids?
Or the way our lecturers harass their students and being extremely mean to them?
Or the way bus conductors and drivers address their passengers?
Or the way drivers cuss at and curse at other drivers in a traffic?
Or the way our airport staff handle travellers?
Or the way policemen and women treat drivers and highway users?
Or the oppression bosses mete out at work to those under them?
Or the way politicians treat their fellow Nigerians?


4. Nigerians are simply not civil.
Treating your fellow human beings with dignity and respect is what is called civility.
When you are brute, disrespectful and unrefined in your dealings of others, you are said to be uncivil or uncivilised.
An uncivilised person is not better than cave men, brutes, or at best an animal.
Civilisation is mainly determined by how people speak and treat each other in a society.
You are not a human being until you respect those below you same way you respect those above you.


5. Nigerians, we are not civilised.
We behave like animals when handed power or advantage, even if it is very little.
If a Nigerian is a quarter mile above you, he will 'show you'
We lack civility at every level in Nigeria.
This disease affects both educated and non-educated Nigerians.


If you dare step a foot on a Nigerian, you could be making the mistake of your life.


6. I schooled for a while in Europe.
Everyday, I had to go to class through the metro system which was often so busy especially during the rush hour.
If you by mistake step your foot on a European during rush hour, he is likely to look back and apologise to you.
That happened to me a number of times.
Yes, you read that correctly.
He didn't match a foot on me, I did, yet he chose to apologise because he is civil.
Yet I could only dream what my fate would have been had it been in my beloved Africa.
Slaps and curses would have been my options.


As students in Europe, our teachers would  appreciate us profusely for coming to class.
They count it a privilege to tutor us.
It was same attitude with doctors, nurses, taxi drivers, government officials etc.

7. Every society has brutes (including Europe),
but remotely I will place the brutes around 5% of their society.
By contrast, I will project that 95% of Nigerians are uncivilised and brutes.
Less than 5% of our society understand what respect and dignity for others mean.

8. We are Nigeria,
Nigerians are we.
We are SARS.
SARS are we.
The SARS attitude is the Nigerian attitude.
The SARS way is how most of us behave,
From the least to the greatest among us.


You have not known a Nigerian until you give him power, gun or a little edge above his brothers.


The moment a Nigerian gets power,
Do you know what he would do first with it?
He will seek out his brothers and destroy them one by one.
It's the way of an animal, a brute and an uncivilised man.
It happened when the colonialists arrived our shores for the first time,
Nigerians captured one another (in exchange for gifts) from the slave-man.
It's still happening same way today.
And though the colonial masters have left,
Nigerians are still colonising one another.


9. This explains why our politicians steal.
Majority of Nigerians are abusers or abusers in waiting.
Someone once said that the number of people currently stealing in Nigeria is not up to one percent of people waiting to steal.
We are all thieves in waiting,
We have just not gotten the opportunity to steal yet.


Incivility is why our pastors manipulate people for personal gains.
It is why our policemen and women shoot without thinking.
It is why our lecturers intimidate students and demand sex for marks.
It is why officers in almost every government office in Nigeria take and demand (not even request) bribe.


Incivility is rooted in every Nigerian.
It is rooted in our obsession to destroy our brothers and sisters just because we have a little advantage they do not have.
How then are we supposed to have a civil society that respects the right of all?
How is the right of the weakest person among us supposed to be protected?


10. We are not a civilised society.
We are brutes, we treat each other like animals.
The ones who went to school amongst us are worse off in this regard.
Most Nigerians are closer to the animal world than Homo sapiens.
This may seem very harsh,
But only animals treat one another the way Nigerians treat their fellow country men.


Until all these stops and we learn civility, we can kiss growth, development and progress goodbye forever in our nation.
Our children will continue to kill and maim each other because they learnt well from us.
They will continue to be strangers in foreign lands.
They will continue to die on the seas and in the deserts, in their quest to escape the hell our incivility has caused.


Nigerians we need a rebirth.
This rebirth starts with every Nigerian.
It is a decision we will make individually and collectively.
However, individually first.


Think for a moment about the person you honour and regard most in life,
Now make a decision to treat everyone like that.
That is how to build a great nation.


11. I wouldn't join anyone to say #EndSARS.
I will rather say end the Nigerian madness.


If we end SARS, are we going to also end the Nigerian police force?
Are we going to end our doctors?
Are we going to end the lecturers too?
Are we going to end the nurses?
Are we going to end the politicians and Pastors?
Are we going to end our civil service who treat other Nigerians like dung?
Are we going to end Nigeria?


12. Transforming Nigeria begins with every citizen learning civility and becoming a decent human being.


It begins with you and I.

Deal With the System

In Africa, we pray and fast just to get admission into schools as if not being able to get admission is a spiritual problem. Friends, the problem is the system. Deal with the system.

Prayer is good, but getting admission requires a working system. If your system is rotten, you will need to fight to clean it up and then admission will come naturally once you meet the requirements.

In Africa, we call on holy ghost fire to destroy any evil holding our jobs or anything that is preventing us from getting employed.

Well, that evil that does not allow people get job easily is the system. Your government created that system.You will need to clean up your system. You will need to hold the people you elected accountable. Holy Ghost fire in the Bible does not work the same way the holy ghost fire you see in African magic does.  Don't drag holy ghost fire into this.

Is it not in Africa that preachers will be telling their members that they are the next in line to drive their own car as decreed by the holy spirit, and the people will begin to shout "Amen" to the point of losing their voices?

Well, driving a car has nothing to do with how much you pray. The problem is your system, deal with it. In a working system, someone can drive the latest Range Rover sports without paying at once. He or she pays bit by bit as long as he or she can. There is insurance for health, for cars, for even their dogs. They don't go to church to give testimony for these. It is the system, the structure.

One big problem with us in Africa is that we have over the years used religion to spiritualize everything including having constipation.

You are shouting "God forbid" that you won't die from police guns, yet you sit down at home saying you cannot join the protest against police brutality or even support those who can simply because according to you, the holy spirit has not spoken to you about it.

The way some of you use the name "holy spirit" in anything, one will even think he is your errand boy.

Religion is not suppose to enslave us, it is actually supposed to do the exact opposite. . .it is supposed to liberate us.

What people say about others, says a lot about them. I am repeating this more directly: The things you say about others, says a lot about you! I can tell a lot about a person by what they choose to see in others.
Character assassination is a pervasive and destructive phenomenon that is found everywhere.
You find it in families, churches, organizations, work places, etc.


Character assassination is the deliberate, malicious, unjustified and sustained effort to damage the reputation or credibility of an individual.
Character assassination is the slandering of a person usually with the intention of destroying public confidence in that person.
"Character Assassination" is the act of lowering one's character in a bid to ruin the character of others.


There are people that take maximum delight in ruining other's reputation. These set of people have what I will like to call 'Destructive Tendencies'. They oil their own ego by pulling other people down. PhD(pull him down).


False allegations are the most chronic form of mental abuse. When people can't kill your dreams and purpose, they will try to assassinate your character. There are some people that your spirit will always irritate their demons! Once they realize hating isn't working they start telling and spreading lies about you. People are assassinated once but 'Character Assassination' kills daily! Character assassination is a form of emotional violence against others.


Someone once said, "A friend of my enemy is my enemy." One of the things that hinders us from living a fulfilling and inclusive life is bringing past bias and sentiments into present relationships. A friend of your enemy is not necessarily your enemy; it all depends on intentions and contributions. God can use your enemy's friend to bless you!`
7 (SEVEN) critical 'DON'Ts' that you really need to guard yourself against.
```Refusing to getting trapped in them will help you live a more productive, fulfilling and unbiased life. They are:




1. Don't conclude about people because of what others say about them: Never draw up conclusions based on what others tell you about someone. It is a lack of social intelligence that makes people draw conclusions on others based on what other people say about them. I know you've heard about emotional and financial intelligence, but there is something called social intelligence. This is the kind of intelligence that keeps you sane even when others are trying to pollute your mind against someone else until you have thoroughly confirmed the veracity of the claims before you. Judges are trained to have this kind of intelligence in order to avoid biased judgments.
2. Don't inherit other people's enemy: It is total lack of education and enlightenment when you automatically make your friend's enemies your own. Don't make people your enemies just because they are not in good terms with your friends.
3. Don't use your children as weapons of war:


God can use your enemies to bless your children Stop using them to fight those you don't like. Your children will need to discern their enemies for themselves; never use your parental influence to make your children hate others. You may often need to guard them with their choice of friends but never plant the seed of discord in the heart of your children against someone else.


4. Don't gang up with others to hate someone: Don't join the majority to hate someone – you may realize that the person has no offence. Someone said, "If you don't see it with your own eyes, or hear it with your own ears. Don't invent it with your small mind and share it with your big
mouth". Never join the multitude to hate someone else.


5. Don't be used as weapon in other people's battle: It is not every battle that you must involve yourself in. Refuse to be used as weapons in other people's battle. When people fight dirty, refuse to take sides. Observe deeply before concluding finally.
6. Don't hate people just because they don't behave like you: That someone is not your tribe doesn't make them your enemy. It is a waste of education if the only people you like are those that are like you. The greatest proof of our education is in how we respond to people whose opinions are different from ours. People who think their opinions are superior to others are most prone to overestimating their relevant knowledge and ignoring chances to learn more.


The people who don't think like you are your greatest source of enlightenment. It is normally people that are not like us that help us grow the most. Companies that had maximized growth are really those that value diversity and inclusion.
7. Don't judge people until you know the whole story: Someone once said, "Beware of the half-truth. You may have gotten hold of the wrong half".


Don't judge other people's choices without understanding their reasons.
If people say something bad about you or judge you as if they know you, don't easily get affected. Remember this, dogs bark if they don't know the person. People who are intimidated by you talk about you with hopes that others won't find you so appealing.
Stay away from people who talk bad about others daily; these kind of people carry a negative spirit, and a negative spirit is contagious. The real problem is not that they are unhappy about others, but they are unhappy with themselves.


Stop the destructive habit of talking about people behind their back. Talking badly about someone else while they aren't there to defend themselves says more about you than the person you're talking about. When you have issues with people, try and discuss it with them. Stop discussing it with others. Someone once said, "Don't talk about me until you have talked to me". Stop spreading false information and rumours about others.
Rumours are carried by haters, spread by fools and accepted by idiots! Stop creating walls of contention, rather help build bridges of understanding among people. SHALOM!

20 WAYS TO KILL ANY ASSOCIATION


1. Don't attend meeting, but if you do arrive late most of the meeting times.
2. Leave before the end of meeting.
3. Say nothing during the meeting, wait till you get out for gang up talks.
4. Vote to support all proposals at the meeting but do nothing after meeting.
5. Frequently look for other members' short comings or faults.
6. Criticize others by using abusive words.
7. Take no part in the Association's affairs or progress.
9. When meeting is on, start side talks.
10. Take all benefits the Association could give or offer  you but never give any benefit or meaningful contributions to the Association.
11. Never encourage but discourage  others  to join the Association.
12. At any opportunity, threaten to resign/leave, and encourage others to do so.
13.Talk cooperation but don't cooperate.
14. If asked to help, always  say  I have no time.
15. Always be the last to pay your dues or avoid it if possible or no financial commitment at all.
16. Make secret meeting or gang up  with some members against the Association.
17. Avoid holding any office but ready to criticise since it's easy to criticize than doing things.
18. Never give time to show up when appointed as a member of a committee or  member for specific assignment.
19. If entrusted with money divert it for personal use.
20. Seek leadership by all means even when not capable or having NO leadership abilities for effective performance.


Note: anyone with two or more of the above qualities is a killer to Association, therefore, we should be careful about him or her.

I want to draw your attention to the need to also be very security conscious this period.
2020 has been a very trying year. A lot has happened back to back. A large majority of individuals who earn a living by riding motorcycles and tricycles lost their jobs and have been having a hard time and now the economy is shutting down, with the lockdown and No adequate provision is being made for the welfare of the lower class


A lot of the security forums I belong to are predicting a sharp rise in crime... armed robbery, theft, kidnapping, molestations, etc. Simply because people are suffering. A lot of people no longer have a viable source of income. They have tried borrowing, begging and may now resort to stealing.


Please ensure you take necessary precautionary measures to secure your loved ones, homes and properties!
Here are few tips to help us out!


At home:
-Ensure proper lighting.
-Ensure doors and gates are properly locked at night. Never lock a gate using a padlock from outside at night.
-Those that can tolerate guard dogs, get a few.
-Those with security fences, ensure they are working.
-If you can get CCTV systems in place, please do (The fear of being caught is often one of the greatest deterrents to crime).
-Limit late nights.
-Be aware of your surroundings. Take note of parked cars, individuals loitering, etc
-Those in estates, ensure you have an emergency response plan (what happens if you or your neighbors are under attack? do you have a way of rapidly alerting the estate security?).
-Ensure all your domestic workers are properly vetted.
-Get an insurance plan
-If your car has an alarm system, always sleep with the remote by your bedside. If you have cause to suspect that someone is trying to forcefully gain entrance into your home, activate the alarm. In a residential environment, this is usually very loud and hopefully will scare the criminals away.
-Be your neighbors keeper. Look out for them. If you have information or observe something that can help, please speak up.


In Transit:
-Try as much as possible to get home while it's still light outside
-Be observant of vehicles and individuals around you
-Reduce the use of mobile phones, tablets and laptops in traffic (especially if you do not have tinted glasses)
-Do not keep bags, wallets or any valuable item on the seat. This also applies when parking in a public place.
-Keep your car doors locked at all times. This also applies when parking in a public place
-While driving home, lookout for cars following you, look out for cars parked too close to your gate, watch out for unfamiliar individuals in your neighborhood.
-Reduce the use of third party individuals to handle the transportation of your loved ones
-Do not allow your drivers/gatemen know your travel/daily itinerary
-Do not make unscheduled stops in questionable areas. If you have a flat, manage the car to a properly lit place. Worst case scenario is that the tyre and wheel (which usually costs between N10k and N100k) gets damaged.


Personal Lives:
-Be very wary of having business discussions around drivers, especially those that concern money, projects, affiliation with known individuals, etc
-Ensure you carry out comprehensive background on existing and new domestic staff hires
-Reduce road trips. Always travel by air if the option is available
-Always let your loved ones know where you are and when you should be expected home.
-Always know the whereabouts of your loved ones and their itinerary. Get frequent updates and act immediately you feel something is out of place.
-Avoid excessive and public show of wealth
-When giving, as much as possible, do so anonymously

I run a manufacturing business and a trading business.
The biggest challenge in my manufacturing business is not power, or infrastructure, the biggest challenge is getting honest staff. Everyone we hire is appears to be on a mission to steal as much as possible. Inflated invoices, recording less than the actual number of units produced. The worst part of it all is that all the fraud we've uncovered is not done by a single person, it's usually many staff who collude with each other, from production, to sales, to finance, even top management. There was a year I overhauled management 3 times in a year. But I've found a solution sha, I now use Indian management. So competent, so honest and so straightforward. I thought they were expensive at first with all the visa fees, accommodation, house staff, but now that losses due to staff theft have been reduced to a minimum, and efficiency increased, the Indian management has turned out to be cheaper than the previous Nigerian management. Now, all sensitive positions involving money go to Indians. Nigerians are only allowed in non-sensitive positions. I used to criticize companies like Dangote Group that hire so many Indians when there are many unemployed Nigerians, but now, I understand their decision.


My biggest challenge in the trading business is the same, getting honest staff. The form of trading occurs in the open market, and involves staff having access to huge sums of money running into a few millions. I know how much I pay to security companies to provide escorts for the staff, not to prevent robbery, but to ensure that the staff go straight to the bank to deposit the money after the day's sales and not disappear with my money. This money spent on security companies is even enough to be declared as profit. We have to spend on CCTV, biometric scanners and other things that wouldn't not be needed if staff weren't looking for the slightest opportunity to steal.


It got so bad at a point that my main criteria for employing staff was no longer conpaetency but honesty. At least, competency and skills can be learnt, but once you're dishonest, you're dishonest.


We always complain of the economy and how they are no jobs. I know people abroad who would have loved to set up job creating businesses in Nigeria but they can't because they can't get any trustworthy person to run it.


I know people in Nigeria with so much money, they want to start factories and other job-creating businesses but they can't because they are occupied elsewhere and can't get any trustworthy person to run the business. So instead of investing in the real sector and creating jobs, they'll just buy treasury bills, while the thieves are shouting no jobs.


Many big businesses would have been born in Nigeria if we could engage in partnerships, but we cant because you can't trust anyone. This is one advantage the Indians and Lebanese have over us in Nigeria. They can pull resources together and do mega-business, unlike Nigerians that because only one person must do everything since we can't partner, end up with small, tiny businesses.


Start a poultry and they will be stealing your eggs. Some will even go
ahead to be killing the chickens so that they'll be allowed to take them home.


Start an entertainment/viewing/game center and they'll be pocketing
your money. On the days you're around at the business, the money
realized will be x10 of the money realized when you're not around.
Because they're eating your money.


Lease out a vehicle to a driver to use and watch as he'll finish you.


Start a restaurant, the same thing will happen. More than half of the
total food ingredients will end up in their personal kitchens.


Even ordinary provisions shop, they will find a way to steal.


You'll see them with that their evil, wicked saying "na where person dey work, na there e dey chop, na e make dem dey callam workchop/workshop"...... Just imagine, justifying theft at work.


And you'll see these people point their crooked fingers at politicians when they're not any different. I usually say the reason most Nigerians haven't stolen billions of government money, is simply lack of opportunity.


Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria.

You may have seen this story b4 but read it today. So I send to you again may be it might touch you d way I'm touched.


One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.


Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor and hungry.


He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you.


He said, "I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson."


Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough.


Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt.


As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.


Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped.


Bryan never thought twice about being paid.


This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.


He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, "And think of me."


He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.


A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan .


After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin.


There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: "You don't owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you."


Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.


Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard....


She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything's going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson."


There is an old saying "What goes around comes around." Today, I sent you this story, and I'm asking you to pass it on .. Let this light shine.

B) Oil Filter N1,000 ,


C) Change of front wheel bearings: N25,000


D) Change the four tyres 205/70 Rim 16@26,500: N106,000


E) Wheel Balancing & Alignment: N3,500


F) Servicing and Workmanship cost; N10,000.


G) Bought Injector Cleaner & Chemical to minimize Fuel Consumption: N1,500


H) To cap it all l filled the fuel tank up  with just N13,500 .

Total cost was N160,000. !!!!!!


While on my bed tonight,  a thought began to creep into my mind after hearing so many sad news this year.


Many colleagues/ friends from different fields died in their 40's, 50's etc


I was told that they complained of simple signs & symptoms of one ailments or the other And death struck..........


I asked myself,


HOW MUCH HAVE I SPENT THIS YEAR TO SERVICE MY BODY?


For how long will you keep thinking all is well with your health in spite of all odds?


We drive through dust at times, inhale all kind of unclean and highly polluted air, drink some water we don't know their sources, eat fast foods with additives and hazardous condiments.


We engage the computer and phone without minding our gradual exposure to radiations.


If my car could gulp over  #160K in an instance just for fine tuning l think l deserve to diagnose and upgrade my system.


Who is doing all the tough job, you  or your car?


When last did you have a medical checkup?.


How healthy is your lifestyle?


What efforts are You making to maintain optimum capacity of your  body internal organs.


1) The Oil Filter is Kidney,

The most beautiful book to read is Die Empty by Todd Henry.
The author was inspired and got this idea of writing ??this book while attending a business meeting.
When the Director asked the audience: Where is the richest land in the world ?


One of the audience answered: The Oil-rich Gulf states
Another added: The Diamond mines in Africa"


Then the Director said: "No IT IS THE CEMETERY.


Yes, Cemetery is the richest land in the world, because millions of people have departed/died and they carried away many valuable ideas that did not come to light nor benefit others. It is all in the cemetery where they are buried."


Inspired by this answer, Todd Henry wrote his book, "Die empty" where he did his best to motivate people to pour out their ideas and potential energies in their communities and turn them into something useful before it is too late.


The most beautiful of what he said in his book is: "Do not go to your grave and carry inside you the best that you have.
Always choose to die empty.


The True meaning of this  expression, is to die empty of all the goodness that is within you. Deliver it to the world, before you leave.


If you have an idea perform it.
If you have knowledge give it out.
If you have a goal achieve it.
If you have resources assist the less opportuned
Love, share and distribute, do not keep it inside.

4- Avoid picking up anything that your child messes up. He will grow up believing that others must take responsibility for his responsibilities.


5- Avoid letting him watch any program on TV. He will grow up thinking that there is no difference between being a child and being an adult.


6- Avoid giving your child all the money he asks for. He will grow up thinking that getting money is easy and will not hesitate to steal for it.


7- Always avoid putting yourself on his side when he is wrong against the neighbors, his teachers, the police. He will grow up thinking that everything he does is right, it is the others who are wrong.


8- Avoid leaving him alone at home when you go to the place of worship, otherwise he will grow up thinking that God does not exist.

AS FROM (40-90years)CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE TO PREVENT BECOMING A BURDEN TO YOUR WIFE,CHILDREN,FRIENDS  OR RELATIVES


?As we grow older, say from 40 years up to 65. There is nothing better than a total life style change to preserve us and keep us healthy.


?After 40 if a person still wants to keep living like a child and eating everything's a child eats, he or she might not make it passed middle age. If however such individuals make it, while living like children, then they might suffer a lot of health problems as they age.


?One of the first things someone over forty years should consider, will be a life of moderation.


?Drink moderately or avoid it completely, eat healthy and wisely, eat lots of fiber rich natural foods, vegetables, fruits, etc avoid industry mass produced foods bcos of lots of unhealthy feed additives not on label, sleep enough and don't deprive yourself of sleep because of partying, hanging out and all such youthful desires lust porn non essentials and occupations.


?Regular exercises should not be missed. Because at the age of forty above, the vital organs of a human being will need some aiding to function properly through exercising.


?Any man or woman who after 40 still consumes alcohol like a little boy or girl and indulge freely in all the things he or she did at age 20, or say 25, does not understand that the body is no more the same as it used to be.


?Many deaths, stroke, erectile dysfunction issues, heart problems, diabetes etc, that occur amongst middle age people today, can be avoided if people of this age group will just embark on a life style change.


?I have seen friends, neighbours and relatives who like me are middle agers but suffer like old men, die relatively early, play with so much Viagra because of erectile problem. This ought not to be so. Lifestyle change is the answer.


?At middle age a lot of changes takes place in us, living us not as strong as we used to be before, therefore we can't put unnecessary pressures that only youthful bodies can take, on our aging bodies.


??Eating time should be reduced to 7pm, because anything after 8pm is poison to the system of a middle aged person.
Red meat (e.g. beef) should be substituted with white meat e.g. poultry and fishes).
Sugar, iced cold water, lots of salt, should be avoided. Load up on high-fiber fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Your whole digestive system does slow as you age, so fiber is very important. Consume fiber-rich foods such as whole grains, fruit, and vegetables. They will help you feel more energetic and give you fuel to keep going.


?Regular check up on our blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, breast, prostrate and so on will be very helpful. use natural med than synthetics.

BVN and fraud


Right from the time BVN came into existence, we've been hearing anyone with your BVN number can cart all your money away and I've tried educating people and it's actually frustrating.
To reconfirm my position, I just got off the phone from a very dear friend who is a banker.


The worse that could happen when people have access to your BVN is to know your details (name, DOB, phone number, etc), listen, they can not transfer your money with it. The best they could do is to call you and ask you for your ATM details and if you fall for that, that's when your money would be gone. That scam is no longer a new tale. We should all know by now that no staff of your bank would call asking for debit card details.


BVN number is just for identification and a source for your information in the national database. Developed Nations have such database as well.


Forget about the broadcasts causing panic about BVN. If you are still not convinced, go to your bank and reconfirm.

CAN THE WAY ONE WRITES HIS/HER NAME TURN THAT PERSON TO SOMEONE ELSE BEFORE THE LAW?
In short, it may interest you to know that the way you write your name can make you someone else. Does it sounds funny?
This was established in the celebrated case of Esenowo v. Ukpong The fact of the matter was Dr. E. J. Esenowo applied for reimbursement from Nigerian Medical Council but the Council because there is no E. J. Esenowo but Esenowo, J. E. in the register of the Council denied him his demands.
He approached the High Court and was refused his prayers. On appeal, Court of Appeal held that what the first defendant wrote in Exhibit H was true because the professional register for 1980 and 1981 entered the name "Esenowo, J. E." not "E. J. Esenowo". In professional matters it is always of great importance to have one's name inserted correctly. The Court of Appeal therefore held that the Dr. Esenowo in the register of medical practitioners was J. E. Esenowo and not E. J. Esonowo, a correct statement of fact.
Is it true that the register of Nigerian Medical Council for 1980 and 1981 did not contain plaintiff/appellant's name? There is a world of difference between "J. E. Esenowo" and "E. J. Esenowo".
The surname is Esenowo, the first and middle names being "Johnson" and "Esenowo" respectively. This will be rendered into "Dr. J. E. Esenowo" not "Dr. E. J. Esenowo" that the appellant in his pleading and evidence clearly claimed to be the correct name.
On appeal again the five Justices of Supreme Court unanimously refused him his prayers because of this fact and agreed that the way someone's name is written makes a whole world of difference. The Court held as follows:
The surname is Esenowo, the first and middle names being "Johnson" and "Esenowo" respectively. This will be rendered into "Dr. J. E. Esenowo" not "Dr. E. J. Esenowo"
That whole world of difference that the arrangement of one's name makes, led the Supreme Court to hold specifically that "Dr. E. J. Esonowo is not registered with the Nigerian Medical Council."
The normal way of writing your name follows a specific order: First name (first) Middle name or Middle names (next) Surname (last). Example, in this case: Johnson (first name)
Esenowo (middle name) Esenowo (surname), i.e. Johnson Esenowo Esenowo
The said normal way of writing your name should change only where any form or document you are required to fill out specifically states that you should write your surname first. In that case, the proper order is: Surname (followed by a comma), First name Middle name Example: Esenowo, Johnson Esenowo
But where the form or document provides boxes or different places labelled "Surname", "First name", and "Middle name", simply write the required name (do not add any comma after your surname). Example: (1) Surname: Esenowo (2) First name: Johnson (3) Middle name: Esenowo.
Never write your middle name before your first name. It does not matter whether you are writing just the initials of your first name and middle name instead of their full version. That was the mistake of Dr. Johnson Esenowo Esenowo. The Supreme Court held that he was Dr. J. E. Esenowo, not Dr. E. J. Esenowo. You can imagine the huge costs, embarrassment, and loss that the "simple" or "little" mistake of writing his name in the wrong order caused him.
*Be careful, therefore, to ensure that you write your name (whether in full or initials) in the proper order always and everywhere.


Remember, the way you write your name can make you someone else, as it happened, unfortunately, to Dr. Johnson Esenowo Esenowo.


This is the Law on how you should write your name properly.

Money Mistake 1
Never borrow money that accrues interest to start a business . That is to say, never borrow money to start a business expecting that the business will generate income to pay back the borrowed money plus the interest.


Money Mistake 2
Never spend money you haven't received. Don't even promise someone money based on a promise you have from someone else. If someone tells you: "Ezra, come to my office tomorrow at 9am and pick #30K"don't go out to buy items on credit based on this promise, with the hope that you will pay off your creditor when the promised money comes; it may not come as promised and this will leave you in problems with your creditors.

If you want to save, whenever you receive money, don't start spending hoping that you'll save what remains. Normally what remains is zero because as long as money to spend is available, the numerous things you can spend it on are also available. And things to spend on even incite their 'relatives' so that you spend even more than you had planned. When money to spend is not available, we naturally find a way of doing without it. That's why I've learnt to save with an INVESTMENT CLUB. Once I send money there I assume I no longer have it. Before you spend any money, put your savings aside then spend what is left after saving.


Money Mistake 4
When you get an opportunity to meet a very wealthy person, never ask for money. Ask for ideas on how to make money. They may even choose to give you money on their own after seeing that your ideas are great, but let getting money from them never be your objective.


Money Mistake 5
Keeping your seed instead of planting it. Many people stop at saving. It's very, very difficult to save and have all you need to maintain your lifestyle especially after retirement. When you save, your savings are seed; plant it. When you just keep the seed (saving money) some seeds begin to die (eaten by inflation and the like). That's why I recommend that you read about the different types of investment vehicles you can use to grow your savings. I am not necessarily talking about putting the money in a business, because you can easily lose money in  business. I am talking about putting it in an investment.


Money Mistake 6
Never lend someone money you are not willing to lose. By the time you lend someone money, be contented in your heart that should the person fail to pay, you will not die. You should not even lose that person's friendship if they fail to repay the money you lent them. If you feel the person might fail to pay you and this will not affect your relationship with them, then lend them money. If their failure to pay would make you hate this person's entire clan, please advise the person to go to the bank.


Money Mistake 7
Never append your signature to guarantee someone on a financial matter if you are not willing or able to pay the money on their behalf. Do I have to explain that one? No, it's self-explanatory.


Money Mistake 8
Avoid keeping money you don't intend to use in the short-term within easy reach. For instance, don't walk with #100K in your pocket when all you plan to do in a day costs #20K. Like I mentioned in Money Mistake 3, there are always expenses available to gobble any money that is within reach, so if you don't want to lose it, put it away in a safe place.


Money Mistake 9
Avoid keeping money in inappropriate places e.g. in socks, under the pillow, in a pit, in the sitting room, in the bra, in a travel bag that you will place somewhere in a bus ... impulse buying is a devil that will keep you busy!


Money Mistake 10
Spending money on an item that you can do without (at least for the time being). These days when I pick money from my pocket or wallet, before paying for something I ask myself: What would happen if I didn't buy this? If I find I can live with the consequences of not having that thing, I smile and walk away.


Money Mistake 11
Paying an amount for something that's not the minimum you can get that same value for. In other words, if you are along east Legon road and you pay #5K for a shoe that you can get at #3K at Makola  market, that's a money mistake except for those who have achieved financial freedom.


Money Mistake 12:
Consistently spending all you earn or more than you earn. It's like having a drum where you have an inlet that's smaller than the outlet. It will never get full. And should the inlet ever reduce significantly the drum will run dry. If you do it the other way round and the inlet is bigger, it will get full and even overflow. Hence, we have to always ensure we are widening the inlet while narrowing the outlet – all the time. Your side hustle comes in handy!


Money Mistake 13:
Thinking about short-term only and forgetting about long-term or thinking about the long-term and forgetting about the short-term. For instance, Lydia was told that there's money in land. She saved money over a long period of time and bought 30 acres of land. Now she has the land but she is always broke. She is always complaining. She's disgruntled and she doesn't seem to see herself earning from the land in the near future. Now, let's ask ourselves: Having 30 acres of land and no money to feed your family or take a child to hospital, is that wealth or poverty? I think Lydia only looked at long-term needs and forgot that she has short-term needs that require money. What of those who find they are one paycheck away from salary? Are they thinking about the long-term needs?

DON'T FEEL SO IMPORTANT JUST YET


A bus full of passengers was traveling, when suddenly the weather changed and there was a heavy downpour and lightening all around.


All the passengers could see that the lightening would appear to come towards the bus and then go elsewhere.


After 2 or 3 horrible instances of being saved from lightening, the driver stopped the bus about fifty meters from a tree and said -
"We have somebody in the bus whose death is certain today.
Because of that person everyone almost got killed today.


Now listen carefully to what I am saying ..
I want everyone to come out of this bus, one by one, touch the tree trunk and come back.


Whomsoever death is certain to kill, will get caught up by the lightening and die... other passengers will be saved".


They forced the 1st person to go, touch the tree and return as proof of innocence.


He reluctantly descended from the bus, went and touched the tree.
His heart leaped with joy when nothing happened and he was still alive.


Thus continued for almost all of the passengers who were relieved when they touched the tree and nothing happened.


When it was the turn of the last passenger, everybody looked at him suspiciously.


The last passenger was afraid and reluctant since he was the only one yet to touch the tree and return unhurt.


Other passengers forced him to descend, proceed to touch the tree.
With 100% fear of death in mind, the last passenger walked to the tree and touched it.


There was a huge sound of thunder, lightening came down and hit the bus - yes lightening hit the bus, killed each and every passenger inside.


It was the presence of this last passenger inside the bus that saved it earlier. Lightening could not strike the bus when he was in it.

Ayodele Esther Olayemi: EDWARD, ARE YOU THE ONE? (Episode 1)

Little did Mrs. Joseph know that the CCTV installed in their house, which almost caused a rift between her and her husband would be the saving grace to unravel the mystery behind a very unfortunate incident that would change the atmosphere in her home permanently.

Mrs. Joseph came back from work a few days before the ugly incident and met some guys from the technical department of their church working on certain installations. When she enquired about what was going on her husband, Pastor Kim Joseph told her that he brought those brothers from their church to come and help install a CCTV camera in their home.

This response did not go down well with Mrs. Joseph who felt that her dear husband should have discussed with her before going into such project for the home. Agreed, they had talked over it some months back and even brought in some experts to survey the house and get some other technical details, but they later agreed that the project should be suspended till their son Dave, returned from NYSC.

However, Pastor Joseph explained to her that while he was praying in the house that morning after she had gone to work it was strongly impressed on his heart to get that work done without further delay. He is a full time pastor with one of the Pentecostal churches in Lagos, South-West, Nigeria while his wife, Dupe Joseph was a manager in one of the commercial banks in the same city. The wife still could not understand the sense of urgency in the whole thing or why he could not wait till at least the next day so they could talk about it once again. Anyway, that's that for the issue of CCTV installation in their home.

Mrs. Joseph was still nursing the wound from her husband's rash decision before tragedy struck in their home.
Three days later, while at work, at about 1 pm Mrs. Joseph got a call from her husband to come home immediately. The tone of his voice did not give her any room to question him further. Even before she could open her mouth to ask any question he had hung up.

She quickly put necessary things in order in the office, called her driver and headed home not knowing what to expect. As she approached her home, she started having this kind of heavy heartedness, an indication that something was wrong somewhere. When she got to their estate gate, the forlorn look on the faces of the security men who opened the gate for her car did not pass her unnoticed. Her house was just a few blocks away from the gate.

He arrived at her house in time just to see the police and some paramedics from the estate medical centre putting a body into an ambulance. At that instant, her whole world came to a standstill. She could not immediately make out what was happening or whose body it was. Before her eyes could span round the pockets of people gathered in the compound some women surrounded her and held her while leading her into the house.

On getting into the living room she met her husband sitting on the floor wearing a pair of trousers and no shirt. That was probably the first time any of the people in that room had seen him that way. Pastor Joseph's family was one decent and lovely family, which many residents of that estate admired so much. They are the kind of neighbours any person would like to have. Their two children are so homely and well-mannered that other parents use them to give example to their own children. Mrs. Joseph could still not fathom what was happening in her home.

Pastor Joseph had just rounded off their Wednesday Hour of Grace prayer meeting in the church when his phone rang at about 11.30am. It was their nanny that called and tearfully said, "Oga I beg come home ooo! I no know wetin happen to Bisi ooo! (Sir please come home. I don't know what happened to Bisi). She cut the line before he could say anything further, but not until the pastor heard some yelling and commotion at the background. He quickly jumped into his car with deacon Udoh and Sister Margaret who were with him when the call came in.

Without wasting time with further details let me tell you what happened. The nanny said that she came back from the market and met the front door open, which is very unusual. She entered into the house, went straight to the living room and saw the only daughter of the Josephs, Bisola stone dead on the sofa. She ran outside the compound in fear and alerted the neighbours and the security men at the estate gate. That is the summary of what happened there.

Let us leave other events that happened in-between and address this sad incident:

Your guess is as good as mine. But let us see more facts as they unveil...

In the midst of the uproar and confusion, one of the police officers who came there asked them if there was anything like CCTV in their house. And Pastor Joseph answered in the affirmative. He then led the team to make the most painful discovery of their lives so far.

From the CCTV recordings, they saw that a male figure came into the house at about 10.15 am and Bisola opened the door to him. He came in and sat a while talking with the girl before other ugly things followed. From the moment he came in he went straight and sat near the girl on the 3-seater sofa she was reclining on reading a novel. Bisola was relaxed and smiling heartily with him all the while. Suddenly the scene changed. He pinned her down on the floor and raped her. He was raping her and using the pillow to snuff the life out of her at the same time. When he was done the first round he got up and moved round the house in search of God-knows-what.

After walking round he came back to the motionless body of the girl and raped her again then picked her and dropped her on the seat. He went further to bring out a small bottle from his pocket, opened it and tried to force some of the content into her mouth. When it was obvious the liquid was not going down, he went into the kitchen and poured the content into the kitchen sink, came back and placed the empty bottle near the sofa where the girl lay; he made sure he opened it and dropped the cover on the floor. When he was done he quietly opened the door and left.

Don't cry yet because more horrifying revelations are coming.

From the CCTV footage, it was not difficult for the pastor to pick who the killer was. Even the nanny was called in by the police and she immediately identified the monster. In other words, he was well known to the family. Mrs. Joseph was too shattered to be made to watch any video, but I guess she too would have been able to recognize the assailant.

The policemen encouraged the pastor to put himself together and put a call across to the killer and invite him to come and help him to do something in the church. He obliged and mustered courage and made a call to the guy at the other end. He was asked to put the call on speaker so that others could follow in the conversation. The pastor sounded as calm as ever while the voice at the other end was enthusiastic to hear from him. And the brief discussion went thus:

Pastor Joseph: Hello my boy, how are you doing today?

Voice: I am fine sir. What of mummy and other members of the family?

Pastor: They are good; we bless God.
Voice: Ok sir.

Pastor: I don't know, ehnn, are you so busy this afternoon?
Voice: Not really sir. Is there something you want me to do for you?
Pastor: Good to hear that. Can you come over to the church now to help me type some mails?

Voice: Yes, sir. I will be there very soon.

Pastor: Oh, that's my boy. I am expecting you dear.
Line cuts.

The pastor entered his car while one of the police officers drove and they went to the church. On getting there the pastor went into his office with one of the police men while the rest waited in the car. In a space of about 10 minutes a young man walked into the premises and went straight to the pastor's office. You should know what happened there and then.

By now another police vehicle had joined them in the church. They drove back to Milimuck Estate where the Josephs live. Back to the house, the CCTV footage was played for the young man the police came back with to watch. He was instructed not say a word but to watch quietly till the end, which he did. At the end of the footage, the senior police officer announced, "young man whatever you say or do here may be used against you in the law court. Shall we proceed to the station please?"

Meanwhile, before they got back to the house Mrs. Joseph had been rushed to the hospital. The whole incident was too much for her to contain. Her elder sister, Dr. (Mrs.) Davies did not want to take chances knowing fully well that Mrs. Joseph was a known hypertension, as well as ulcer patient. So, Dr. Davies arranged for her to be moved to her private clinic for close monitoring and observation, at least for that night.

I guess you may be asking within your mind, "who is that young man?" Don't worry we shall soon find out. But before then let me tell you a little more about the Josephs family.

Pastor and Mrs. Joseph had two children, 20 year old David who is currently doing his NYSC in Rivers state, Nigeria and his 12 year old Bisola who was in JSS 3, in one of the private secondary schools in Lagos state before her gruesome murder.

As I said earlier, the Josephs family is a very godly and friendly family. Their 2 children are just good and also very intelligent. You hardly see them outside unless they are going to the church with their parents. And they don't even have many friends. They have few selected friends, mostly from their church and a few others from their estate.

Dave has a friend who is a member of their church music group. Both of them went to the same school from their primary to secondary school. But they separated when they were about to enter the university. Dave did a 4-year course in the university while his friend went in for engineering, which was a 5-year program. Hence, Dave graduated before his friend and went to serve.

Meanwhile, when Dave came home after his orientation camp he discovered that his friend had been at home for some weeks. When he asked him what he was doing at home he told him that there was a practical course he was sent to do in one of the firms in Lagos before coming back to finish his final year. And Dave believed him.

Dave and his friend were always together during the holidays. That was about the only friend he was allowed to visit from time to time. Both families became good friends because of the two boys. This guy was like a second son to the Josephs. When Pastor Joseph traveled to the UK for a program he made sure that he bought the same kind of wears for his son and the friend. Everybody in Pastor Joseph's home loved this boy and even treated him as one of them. If he came to the house and wanted to eat, even if the family had finished eating the nanny would be asked to get him something to eat. On several occasions he had spent not just a night but nights and days with the Josephs. To say that they were close may be an understatement but let us just leave it there.

It was barely 5 days after Dave went back to his place of service that his only sister, Bisola was gruesomely murdered. Bisola was at home that fateful day because their school was on mid-term break. Her mum went to work while her dad went for a program in the church. The nanny had gone to Mile 12 market to buy some food items that morning.

I guess you are beginning to pick the pieces together as to unravel who killed Bisola. But before we finally name the dog, I want to ask you some questions.

· What do you know about your child's best friend?
· Do you know that even the most trusted friend can be used by the devil to give your family a deadly blow?
· Are you sure the people you call your family friends share the same values with your own family? Are you sure they teach their own children same things you teach yours? What of their religious beliefs and practices, because I have come to understand that some families believe one thing and practice another?
· When you are talking to your children and educating them on the issues of life, do you make it a point of duty to include their friends in the teachings?
· When was the last time you checked the call log and chats/messages on your child's phone?
· Have you ever thought of organizing an in-house training/discussion on basic life issues like sexuality, friendship, academic excellence, and the likes for your children and their friends? Even if you cannot handle it by yourself you can get some people who are good in such areas to help you.
· Do you agree with me that your own children are not safe until every other child out there is safe?
· Do you, from time to time, find out the state of the relationship between your children and their close friends?
· Apart from your children, who are the other friends kept by their close friends? This is because the friend of our friend is also our friend.
· Do you know that the fact that you are a child of God does not make your family totally immune to some of the pains other families are passing through?
· Do you know that you may be sincerely wrong to trust some unproven friends?
· Is there any reason under heaven why you should allow your daughter to be very close and relaxed with a young man without any measure of fear or suspicion?
· Are you aware that sexual hormones do not know who is a sibling or a friend?
· Do you know that at times boys can use their association with your son to get at your girls and vice versa?
· Am I wrong to say that none of my children should entertain their friends inside their room? Every friend must stay and be entertained in the living room, irrespective of who they are.
· Am I also wrong to say that I do not allow their friends to sleep-over in my home unless I am fully persuaded about who I am relating with, down to knowing the family and their value system?
· Who are your own friends?
· What is the testimony of people in your area about your family?

Please forgive me for throwing this number of questions to you at the same time. By the way, I still have many questions to ask but I just remembered that we are still looking for Bisola's murderer.

At the police station, the police quizzed the young man they picked from Pastor Joseph's house.

Officer: What is your name?
Young man: (in a muffled voice) Edward
Officer: Edward who?
Young man: Edward Megida.
Officer: Edward, did you recognize the man in the CCTV footage you watched before we left Pastor Joseph's house?
Edward: Ye-ye-yes sir.
Officer: Who was that?
Edward (stammering the more) I – I – I am the one. But sir it was the devil's work (crying now).
Officer: (mockingly) you wrote an application letter to the devil and he employed you without pay but we are going to pay you here. This will be a good lesson other devil's employees like you. Now tell me, why did you kill that innocent girl?
Edward: Sir I I, it was the devil.
Another officer: (kicking him from behind) come on speak out before I destroy you now! criminal like you!
Officer: My guy stop this your crocodile tears and just tell us everything you know about the death of that girl. And you better talk now before our oga comes here ooo! If you cooperate with us we may even do something for you before or when he comes.
Edward: Sir I didn't want to kill her but I was afraid that she might tell her family what I did to her.
Officer: What did you do to her?
Edward: I I raped her.
Officer: (sounding amused) are you sure we will not collect that your dick from you so that it will not land you into trouble again? By the way, how did you gain entrance into the house? Was the door not locked?
Edward: Bisola opened the door for me but the gate was open when I came.
Officer: Why did she open the door for you? What did you use to threaten her?
Edward: I did not threaten her at all. She just opened the door for me?
Officer: Why?

Edward still has a lot of revelations and confessions to make, he may even have some accomplice(s) within or outside the Josephs family. Let's cap it up tomorrow with those revelations. I am still your friend.

Ayodele Esther Olayemi: EDWARD, ARE YOU THE ONE? (Episode 3)

Edward: She knows me very well and I have been going to their house.

Officer: What do you normally go there to do?

Edward: Her elder brother, David is my best friend?

Another officer: (hit him on the head) you are a very wicked boy! You raped and killed the only sister of your best friend. You are not supposed to be alive by now.

Officer: Why did you do that, a fine young man like you? Did you want her to be your girl friend and she refused?

Edward: Sir I don't know what came over me.

Officer: When was the last time you went to their house?

Edward: About six days ago, just before David went back to Rivers State where he is serving.

Officer: What happened that day, which warranted your going back to kill that girl?

Edward: Sir nothing unusual happened. All of us were just gisting and playing games in David's room as we used to do before.

Officer: Who were the other people?

Edward: I mean three of us – David, Bisola and I.

Officer: So what happened?

Edward: Nothing sir. It is just that I became attracted to her. That day she was wearing one black bum shots like that, which was quite revealing of her very fair skin on her laps. And as we were playing she bent over my body to collect her phone from David and her chest rested on my own. At that moment I didn't know what happened to me again and I started imagining some weird things.

Officer: So?

Edward: I quickly got up and told them that I was going and I left.
Officer: And?

Edward: When I got home I could not get her off my mind and I desired to have her by all means.

Officer: Continue.

Edward: That was just that. When my parents went to work in the morning I told my siblings that I wanted to pick some things from the mall and left the house. I went to their house straight.

Officer: How did you know she was alone in the house by that time?

Edward: I called her and told her that I just wanted to know how she was doing and if she was missing

Dave. It was then she told me that she was alone and would not mind if I paid her a visit.

Officer: So you accepted the invitation and went and killed her?

Edward: I didn't mean to. I only wanted to have fun with her. But she just died when I was still on that.

Officer: (getting angry with him for the first time or so it appears) will you shut up your mouth you lying beast! She died while you were making love to her meanwhile the footage showed you suffocating her with a pillow. You even came around to have a second round with her lifeless body. And that reminds me, what was that liquid you tried to force down her throat?

Edward: (obviously terrified) sir...sir, it...it was Sniper. But I just took a small quantity from the one in our house.

Officer: You said you did not want to kill her, why then did you go there with Sniper?

Edward: I...I...I don't..

A slap from the other officer behind him could not let him complete the statement on his lips.

Officer: Now tell me, how many other girls have you done this to because you seem to be a master in the art?

Edward: Sir, this is just the first time I wa...

Another slap and a shove from the other officer brought him down to the floor with a heavy thud. This made him to cry out in pain. He was however mercilessly forced to stand on his feet again.

Officer: I am giving you the last chance before something sinister happens to you. Tell me how long you have been in this business and who your accomplices are. By the way, why are you not in school since they said you are a final year student of Victory Crest University?

Edward: (shaking like a leaf with blood dripping from one of his nostrils) Sir, I was sent out of school about 2 months ago because I got involved in a cult activity. But my parents are still trying to see if they can work their way into getting me back to the school. That is why no one knows about it yet. It was other members of the cult I joined in the school that introduced me into gang-raping of girls. They also taught me that the best way to avoid being caught is to eliminate the victim after using her. I don't know the number of girls I have raped from my second year in the university when I joined the cult but this is the second one to die in my hands.

Officer: Who and where was the first victim?

Edward: She was a girl in my department in the school and it happened during one of our gang activities in the school. We raided the girls' hostel and her room happened to be one of the rooms assigned to me to raid. We were meant to raid the girls' rooms and collect their hand sets and other valuables. But when I got to their room her room mates were not there so I decided to rape her. While raping her she called out my name so I decided to kill her to cover my tracks.

Officer: Mhnn, oh boy you have gone far ooo. Listen to your language; you decided to kill her TO COVER YOUR TRACKS. How did you do that? Well, I don't think that is necessary now. Are your parents aware of all these?

Edward: They got to know when they were invited to the school because of the last incident that involved the daughter of the deans of students' affairs.

Officer: How old are you?

Edward: I will be 20 years in December.

At this juncture those who went to the clinic to bring Mrs. Joseph and their nanny for some interrogations came in with them. Of course they had told her to console herself with the fact that her daughter's murderer has been caught and was already in police custody. Hence, Mrs. Joseph entered the interrogation room with the utmost curiosity to know who she offended so much that decided to take smiles from her face for the rest of her life.

And to think of it, that fateful day the T-shirt Edward was wearing was the same one Mrs. Joseph bought for him and his son, David when she took them to the trade fair complex about a year ago. She was not prepared for what she saw when she entered into the police interrogation office.

On seeing Edward in that dimly lit police interrogation room, every atom of strength that remained in Mrs. Joseph left her. Just before she collapsed on the floor, she managed to say in a trembling voice, "EDWARD, ARE YOU THE ONE?"

These are the facts we have been able to pick from the story:

· Edward, David Jospeh's best friend killed Bisola, the only sister David had.
· Edward killed Bisola right inside her parents' house, where he had always spent good times with the family before that fateful date.
· Bisola trusted Edward so much and as such did not hesitate to throw their door wide open for him despite the fact that she was alone in the house. Another proof that 90% of pedophiles and other child sexual molesters are people known to the child.
· Neither David nor his family knew that his best friend was a cultist and serial rapist.
· They also did not know that he was already rusticated from the campus and could not conclude his final year.
· Edward was filled with lustful desires to waste Bisola from the day she unconsciously exposed her thighs and chest in a very unbecoming manner before him. Another reason why we should ensure that our daughters dress decently even at home, especially when there are male visitors in the house.

That is the end of the story for now. But watch out for another series. Draw your own conclusions as a parent and as a family. I am still your friend.

VISION IN RELATIONSHIPS

Proverbs 29:18, the Bible says when there is no vision, the people perish. Vision is vital for any individual that will have a profitable and a glorious home, before you start going after the person, go after the Vision. Hello, what are you here for? Jeremiah 29:11 says I know the thoughts I have towards you, thoughts of good and not of evil to give you an expected end. There is a need to locate vision because one of the things you need to identify is clarity of vision.

If you ask my wife, everything I am doing now in terms of my assignment, I have explained it all to her. There is no surprise, I say this is how it is going to be, these are the things that are required of me. People wonder, how is she able to handle such a man, the description was too clear, I will sit down and describe it: I say you see, as a Pastor, this is what is required of me, I will be here and there in one meeting or the other. We now have to sit down, based on the vision for her to be able to see whether her vision can cohabit with mine.

People just marry anyhow, he will say you see, "the way I look at her, we are very compatible", you don't marry anyhow.
What do you like about her? "She is quiet, she is melancholy and I am sanguine, we just merge, our personalities just work out".
It is not only personality; the question is where are you going? If you are supposed to arrive in New York and you enter South African flight, you are already in trouble.
Where are you going? Check the vision, there must be vision.

Our single women, if you want to marry a man that does not know where he is going, it is a dangerous thing. It is like entering a bus that has no destination. You must understand that there must be direction. God will help our understanding in Jesus name.

There is a need for vision. God told Abraham in Genesis 13:14 as far as you can see, I will give it to you, so it is what you see that determines what you accomplish.
Check the man first, does he have vision? People are checking his pocket if he has money, money will expire without vision. Some people are running all around town following people who have money or connections. They say "I marry this person, do you know who his uncle is?" - just following after the wrong things.
The real question is does he have vision?

There are many great men that the first people they spoke to refused them because of money. In case you would like to know, the first person Bishop David Abioye spoke to said 'No' because at that time he had nothing, is he not loaded now?

Vision determines provision; provision will be flowing in the direction of vision. Look into the vision, I am not talking about balloon dreams like "you see I will be a millionaire. I promise you". If you are not careful, you will marry a criminal. Check whether he has a vision, valid vision.
What will he be offering the world? That is the real question. So many people might be saying "God knows, he has told me I will be a billionaire", doing what? They don't become a billionaire doing nothing.

The real question is, what is the vision for his life? How does he want to impact his world? That is the question we should be asking each other.

As individuals, we have to locate visions for ourselves. When me and my wife were in courtship, we had to sit down and plan what is it that you want to do, what is it that God wants you to do, we wrote it down and compared it. If you have not located vision, by the time you are located, you will look like a misfit. God will help our understanding in the name of Jesus.

Have vision, locate the vision for your life and locate vision for your family. Have a picture of what your family should be like and how it should function. Take scriptures and paint pictures with it. My wife did not understand when I was explaining to her that there will be no argument, she didn't understand it but I had taken scriptures and began to paint the picture for her. We had four solid years of courtship but in that four solid years no argument, is it now in the marriage that we will start arguing? Paint pictures from scriptures so that you can see where you are going.

Take time to pray that God should show you things as it concerns your future, both individually and concerning your family. Take time to pray concerning your vision, take action, take steps. Many people are associated with people who are big dreamers but don't take any step. I don't respect your dreams until I see your action. What action are you taking to bring your vision to pass?

I had a friend who was always saying, "in five years, imagine what we will be" and then the next year, he says "in five years, imagine what we will be". I was always going along with him because he had a very good description of where he was going. One of the first biographies of businessmen I read, he introduced that biography to me. We were in a way like-minded but it was so much of dreaming and zero action no step, even in marriage before he got married, he was in courtship before I and my wife started. He had original courtship from the start, (but) for him to get married and everything, zero action.

Watch yourself, do you take steps on the dream that you have, watch the person you are entering into a relationship with, does he take steps on the dream that he has? God will help our understanding in Jesus name.

THE WORLD IS FAKE

My money,  my house,  my  car,  my  children,  my  certificates,  my  job,  my  husband,  my  wife,  my  families,  my  clothes,  my  SHOE.....
My !  My!!  My !!! What  is  this  life worth?

A  man  was informed  about the  death  of his  father,  but  he  tarried.  When  his  father  started  smelling,  their  neighbours  took  his  father  to  the  mortuary  for  preservation.

A  week  later,  he went  to  the mortuary  to  see the  corpse  of  his  father.  When  he  was  about  to enter  the  place, there  was  a poster  placed  at the  entrance  of the  mortuary,  of which  no  one  can  escape  it.  It  read:

" WE  WERE  LIKE YOU  BEFORE, BUT  WE  ARE HERE  NOW. "

The  young  boy read  it,  but  it didn't  make  any sense  to  him.

He  went  inside, checked  the corpse  of  his father,  after  a  few  minutes,  he  made  his  step out.

As  he  was  about  to step  outside,  he  saw  another inscription  placed  on  a  strategic  location,  which no  one  will escape.  It  says:

" YOU  WILL  SOON  BE  LIKE US. "

This  last  word touched  his  stone  heart  and  he  repented  from  that  moment. From  that  moment,  he understood,

Everything  here on  earth  is  like  a  dream,  a  vapour. Life  itself  is  not  real,  as everything  is temporal.

You  will  soon  be  like  those  that  were  once Living , Eating  , Sleeping ,  Walking  , Talking  ,  Laughing  here on  earth ,  but  today ......
They're  NO  MORE.

When  he  got  to his  father's mansion,  there was  nobody  to talk  to,  his  father  left  his  shoes,  clothes,  money, bed,  cars, EVERYTHING.

As  he  was  searching  his father's wardrobes,  he saw  untouched brand  new dollars,  well packed  and arranged,  but  the owner  of  the money  was  in  the  mortuary.  The  young  boy remembered,

" WE  WERE  LIKE YOU  BEFORE, BUT  YOU  WILL SOON  JOIN  US. " He  cried  the more.

You  eat  chicken   with  vegetables  and  fish,  turkey,  meat , fried  rice, and  drink  wine today ,  but tomorrow,  your  flesh  becomes    food  for  maggots. where will your soul go to?

You  drive  a  nice car  today,  but tomorrow,  a car drives  you.

You  live  in  a mansion  today, but  tomorrow  you  live  in  burial ground.

You  sleep  in  a nice  bed  today, but  tomorrow,  you  sleep  inside  the  Grave !

There is no replacement  for your  soul ? It is priceless, unique and peculiar. The soul is the real you. It lives on after death.

You  will  lose everything  if  you die  without  GOD and  without  living  for  Him.

Please,  ruminate on  this, reconcile with  your  creator,  and  have  a  positive  change  of  heart,  so  that  your  living  on  earth  shall  be  to God's  Glory  and  at  the  end  of  your sojourning  on  earth,  you  will  not  end  in  oblivion.

A  WORD  IS  ENOUGH  FOR  THE  WISE.

" Indeed  we belong  to  God, and  indeed  to Him  we  shall return. "
