STEPS FOR A CHANGE OF STORY.
I thank God for your life and I give Him praise for sustaining you till this day. Fear not, if God can keep you till today, He will definitely give you all the necessities of life.
I begin this morning by showing you the steps that can guarantee your change of story. Without steps, you cannot go up, without steps you can’t climb to the topmost top. So pay attention to these steps and your life will never remain the same.
God knows what you need but have you really taken these steps? God is still God and will always be in charge. To be angry with God is to suffer the more. If you decide to be angry with God because of what you are going through, God will only turn His back on you and face multitudes that are praising Him everyday. God is your last bus stop, its time to stop with God because He has the final and permanent solution.
The steps for a change of story include:
1. Asking for mercy: until you secure mercy from God, you may still remain in that mess. The mercy of God can wipe out every pain, shame and every tear you may have shed.
Psalms 102 vs. 13
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea, the set time, is come.
Mercy is not just for the forgiveness of sin, it is also to gain the attention of God. Mercy is obtained by prayers. Hebrews 4 vs. 16. Nothing moves God than the cry of mercy, not just from your mouth but in your heart. When the prodigal son returned, he made up His mind to ask his father for mercy and before he even mentioned it; his father had changed his story. Luke 15 vs. 11 to 32.
I want you to desire the mercy of God in your heart and pray unto the Lord to have mercy on you, His mercies are new every morning, it endures forever. I join you in prayers right now and ask that the mercies of God overwhelm you in the name of Jesus.
2. Showing mercy to others: the next step you must take is to show somebody mercy according to your capacity. That person may not have hurt you but still show him or her mercy by rendering help in any form. God will begin to look at your case the moment you look at the cases of others. Anybody you see that needs one form of help or the other that you can meet. Go ahead and meet it. By so doing God will be moved to meet yours.
3. Thanksgiving: Any prayer you pray that does not end in thanksgiving does not reach God. Thanksgiving is a vital force that can change the unchangeable. No doubt you have prayed, but to end your prayer without giving God thanks is to pray amiss. Thanksgiving is not just a proof of gratitude; it is also a proof of faith.
Philippians 4 vs. 6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Although God knows your needs but you must let him know in prayers WITH THANKSGIVING. I want you to pray that prayer again but this time end it with thanksgiving and keep on thanking God; the answer is reaching you this time in the name of Jesus.
Jesus our lord and master followed this step of thanksgiving when his friend Lazarus died and after four days when he came He said Father I thank you for Thou Has heard me. And Lazarus came out from the grave. John 11 vs. 14 to 47. God is not the author of delay because delay does not give glory to God. If you are experiencing delays follow these steps and you will see God in action.
On another occasion, Jesus was able to feed 5,000 men excluding women and children when only 5 loaves and two fish were available. The secret was that He lifted up the little and thanked God with it, then it multiplied and even remained. John 6 vs. 5 to 13. Thank God for the little you have and what you can see then you will be surprised that what you don’t have and cannot see will supernaturally be added and multiplied to you.
As you follow these steps there is no way that your life will remain the same, be blessed of the Lord in Jesus name. Amen.
