The Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije, bid the world goodbye on Sunday evening at 75, after battling with lung cancer for a long time. A statement released by the family said, burial arrangements will be announced later.

Meanwhile, the senate president, Senator David Mark and other eminent Nigerians have expressed shock and sadness over the death of Chukwumerije.
