The Agip oil company centre in Ebocha in Ogba Egbema Ndoni LGA in Rivers yesternight was hit by an explosion.

An eyewitness, Lukeson Oguchi, revealed that the fire started at about 11.30pm, shortly after which, a loud explosion was heard.

The cause of the inferno hasn't been identified nor casualties, however, report says over 10 houses have been destroyed by the inferno in the facility.

Fire fighters are reportedly at the scene battling to put out the fire.
